Chandigarh, December 12: The Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, has expressed deep grief over the sudden demise of India’s senior leader and former Governor of Punjab, Shri Shivraj Patil. Born on October 12, 1935, Shri Patil Ji passed away today at his residence in Latur.

In his condolence message, the Governor stated that during his extensive political career, Shri Patil Ji made remarkable contributions as Union Minister, Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh. He also held the additional charge of Governor of Rajasthan, reflecting his efficiency, foresight, and strong leadership capabilities. Throughout his long, dedicated, and dignified public life, he served the nation with utmost commitment while holding high constitutional and administrative responsibilities.

The Governor said that Shri Patil Ji’s commitment to the nation, society, and constitutional values was unparalleled.
