CHANDIGARH, 15.03.26-The Government of India, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSME-Development and Facilitation Office (DFO), Ludhiana, organised a two-day “PM Vishwakarma Exhibition-cum-Trade Fair” on dated 12th to 13th March 2026, at Lala Lajpat Rai Bhawan, Sector-15B, Chandigarh, with the objective of providing marketing support to artisans and craftspeople under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. The exhibition was concluded successfully on 13th March 2026.
During this two-day PM Vishwakarma Exhibition, more than 64 stalls were set up by PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries from various districts of Punjab, UT Chandigarh, and neighbouring states, including Haryana, showcasing their traditional as well as handmade innovative products. MSME-DFO, Ludhiana was provided free stalls to all the participating artisans, and entry for visitors was also kept free.
Around 1000 visitors attended the exhibition and purchased products displayed by the artisans and craftspeople. The participants expressed happiness and satisfaction at the overwhelming public response and appreciated the opportunity to market their products directly to customers. Various government departments and institutions, including India Post and Punjab National Bank, also set up stalls and provided valuable information and support services to PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries.
The programme was organised by Shri Krishan Kumar, Assistant Director, Shri Deepak Chechi, Assistant Director, and other officers from MSME-DFO, Ludhiana. Shri Krishan Kumar, MSME-DFO, Ludhiana, supervised the successful conduct of the exhibition. The event proved to be a great success in promoting local artisans and strengthening the objectives of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.
On the second day, an informative and technical session was organized. At the outset, Shri Krishan Kumar, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO, Ludhiana, welcomed all the dignitaries and artisans and briefed the audience about the objectives of the programme. On this occasion, Shri Krishan Kumar and Shri Deepak Chechi felicitated the Chief Guest and Special Guests with bouquets.
Shri Deepak Chechi, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO, Ludhiana, provided detailed information regarding various components of the scheme, including skill upgradation, toolkit support, credit assistance, and marketing facilitation. He also extended a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries and participants.
Shri Surinder Kumar Singhal, Lead District Manager (LDM), Chandigarh, elaborated on various financial schemes available for PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries. He appreciated the efforts of MSME-DFO and assured full cooperation in loan sanctioning. He advised beneficiaries to maintain and improve their CIBIL scores for smooth loan approvals.
The following LDMs from different districts of Punjab also actively participated in the technical session: Shri Gurparminder Singh, LDM, Barnala; Shri Gurdeep Singh, LDM, Ludhiana; Ms. Aparna Sharma, LDM, Amritsar; Shri Chiranjiv Singh, LDM, Moga; Shri Surmukh Singh, LDM, Sangrur; Shri Geeta Mehta, LDM, Ferozepur; Shri Sanjiv Agarwal, LDM, Patiala; Shri Gaynendra Moudgul, LDM, Tarn Taran; Shri M. S. Moti, LDM, Jalandhar; Shri Rameshwar Dass, LDM, Faridkot; and Smt. Suman, LDM, Fatehgarh Sahib.
Ms. Chetna, Executive Officer, India Post Payments Bank, Chandigarh, delivered a comprehensive presentation on e-commerce and digital transactions. She explained various schemes of India Post Payments Bank and resolved queries raised by participants.
Shri Inderpreet Singh Lamba, Nodal Officer for PMV, Government ITI, Sector 28, Chandigarh, explained in detail the importance of Advanced Skill Training for Vishwakarma beneficiaries.
Shri Raghav Mittal, State Engagement Coordinator, NSDC, Chandigarh, created awareness about the training stipend available to PM Vishwakarma artisans and clarified the doubts of participants.
During the interactive open house discussion, several queries of Vishwakarma beneficiaries regarding loans, training stipend, toolkits, and the exhibition were addressed satisfactorily by the respective officials.
Shri Pankaj Kumar Jha, Joint Director & Head of Office, MSME-DFO, Ludhiana, encouraged artisans to avail themselves of the benefits under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme and other Government schemes. He assured participants that necessary communication would be sent to Headquarters regarding the extension of the exhibition duration, as requested by the artisans.
After the technical session, certificates were distributed to all exhibitors who had set up stalls during the exhibition held on 12th and 13th March 2026.
The programme was successfully organized with the active support of Shri Deepak Gulati, Ms. Shruti (Representative, Directorate of Industries, Chandigarh), representatives from Punjab National Bank, Shri Anil Behl, Assistant Director, and other officials of MSME-DFO, Ludhiana.
At the conclusion of the programme, Shri Krishan Kumar, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO, Ludhiana, expressed gratitude to all participating PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries and visitors for making the two-day exhibition a grand success. A group photograph with all participants was taken as a memorable conclusion to the event.
