Chandigarh, 31.07.2026:Sh. Amandeep Singh Bhatti, PCS, ADC-cum-Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, U.T., Branch Chandigarh today distributed participation certificates and gifts to 40 under privileged girls who successfully completed a three month Training & Stitching programme organized by Chandigarh Red Cross. The programme was conducted on free of cost basis as a part of the Society’s women empowerment initiatives.
The Secretary encouraged the girls to actively participate in various vocational training programmes being organized by Chandigarh Red Cross to become financially independent and self reliant. The Secretary also expressed gratitude to the Chandigarh Senior Citizen Association for continuously supporting welfare initiatives of Chandigarh Red Cross and appealed to arrange sewing machines for deserving trainees so that the girls who have completed this tailoring and stitching programme can start earning their livelihood.
Ms. Punam Malik, Nodal Officer, stated that Chandigarh Red Cross will continue to work for the welfare of the underprivileged section of society and will soon commence a free of cost beautician course for the girls to provide them additional employment opportunities.
