10 Roads in Ambala Cantonment to Be Strengthened at a Cost of ₹9.75 Crore; Development to Get a Major Boost: Energy Minister Anil Vij

Chandigarh, July 31: Haryana's Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij said that 10 roads in Ambala Cantonment will be repaired and strengthened at a cost of ₹9.75 crore to make the road infrastructure more durable and modern. He said the project will benefit lakhs of commuters, accelerate the pace of development in Ambala Cantonment and further improve the quality of life for residents.

Vij informed that the State Government has approved ₹9.75 crore for the repair and strengthening of 10 roads across different parts of Ambala Cantonment. He said the Public Works Department (PWD) will soon invite tenders, following which the work will commence. The Energy Minister said that the improvement of these urban and rural roads will provide greater convenience to commuters and ensure smoother traffic movement.
He further said that these roads connect several rural, military and urban areas, benefiting lakhs of residents and daily commuters. The road repair works will cover areas including Nanhera, Rangia Mandi, Machhonda, Chandrapuri, Ramgarh Majra, Dalipgarh, Panjokhra Sahib, Mandour, Dhulkot and Munrehri.
The following 10 roads will be repaired under the project:
• Link Road from GT Road to Nanhera and Rangia Mandi
• Link Road from Machhonda to Chandrapuri
• Link Road from MES Road to Village Ramgarh Majra
• Link Road from Government High School, Dalipgarh, to MES Road
• Link Road from Jagadhri Road to Munrehri
• Main Approach Road to Gurdwara Panjokhra Sahib
• Road from Panjokhra Sahib Village to the Village Peripheral Road (Phirni)
• Link Road from Panjokhra Sahib Village to the Tisimbli Punjab Border
• Link Road from Ambala–Naraingarh Road to Gurdwara Panjokhra Sahib
• Road from Village Mandour to Dhulkot Power House
Anil Vij said that Ambala Cantonment is steadily progressing towards becoming a modern metropolis through sustained infrastructure development. Along with strengthening the road network, the process of developing new residential and commercial sectors over nearly 1,000 acres of land along the Ring Road has also been initiated to facilitate planned urban expansion.
He said his vision is to transform Ambala Cantonment into a modern city equipped with world-class road infrastructure and high-quality civic amenities, ensuring better connectivity and an improved standard of living for its residents.
