CHANDIGARH, 31.07.26-The Chandigarh Skill Development Mission (CSDM) convened PM SETU Industry Connect Meet at the UT State Guest House, Chandigarh, bringing together eminent industry leaders, representatives of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and key stakeholders to deliberate on strengthening industry participation in the skill development ecosystem.
The meeting was chaired by the Director cum Mission Director, Dr. Palika Arora, PCS , CSDM, department of technical Education under the able guidance of Ms. Prerna Puri, IAS, Secretary Education who underscored the strategic importance of engaging industries as Anchor Industry Partners to foster demand-driven skilling, reskilling and upskilling initiatives aligned with emerging workforce requirements. The CSDM team presented the proposed framework, highlighting the pivotal role of industry in curriculum enrichment, workplace learning, mentorship, apprenticeship opportunities and sustainable resource generation to ensure the long-term viability of skilling initiatives.
The participating industry representatives responded with overwhelming enthusiasm and reaffirmed their commitment to contributing towards a robust, industry-led skilling ecosystem. They appreciated the transformative social impact of the initiative in enhancing youth employability, bridging the skill gap, and creating a future-ready workforce. Representatives from NSDC also shared valuable insights on national best practices, collaborative models and avenues for strategic partnerships, further enriching the deliberations. The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to foster enduring partnerships that will significantly strengthen Chandigarh's skilling landscape .
