Chandigarh, August 10-A high-level delegation led by Y.B. Jagdeep Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister of the Malaysian state of Penang, met Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party President Kewal Singh Dhillon during an important meeting in Chandigarh. The meeting was also attended by Professor Dr. B.S. Bains, President of the International Punjabi Heritage and Cultural Foundation Malaysia, along with other leaders.

During the meeting, the two leaders held detailed discussions on important issues including regional development, modern technology, industry and creating new employment opportunities.

Dhillon said that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is scaling new heights in the economic and social sectors and moving rapidly towards realising the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’.

Appreciating the hard work and spirit of Punjabis, Dhillon said that Punjabis, through their dedication, hard work and honesty, have earned recognition and respect across the world. He said that the fact that Jagdeep Singh Deo and his family have served in senior positions in Malaysian politics is a matter of immense pride and honour for the entire Punjabi community.

During the meeting, Jagdeep Singh Deo formally invited Kewal Singh Dhillon to the special inaugural ceremony being organised following the renovation of the historic Wadda Gurdwara Sahib, located in Penang and over 123 years old.
