Chandigarh, September 21:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh continued its enforcement drive against littering and improper disposal of waste across various parts of the city, issuing 10 challans to violators during the day.

The challans were issued in Wards 17, 16, 2, 3 and 12, covering areas including Sectors 22, 23, 25-D, 9, 26 and 15. The enforcement teams took action at different locations, including market areas, near commercial establishments and public places, where littering and improper disposal of waste were observed.

The Municipal Corporation has reiterated that littering in public places not only affects the cleanliness and aesthetics of the city but also creates unhygienic conditions. Citizens, shopkeepers and visitors have been urged to dispose of waste only in designated bins and follow proper waste disposal practices.

Such enforcement activities will continue regularly across Chandigarh to ensure a cleaner, healthier and more hygienic city and to encourage greater public participation in maintaining cleanliness.
