MCC tightens noose on littering; four challans total ₹56,284
Chandigarh, September 28:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh intensified its enforcement drive against littering and illegal garbage disposal at public places, issuing four challans during September 25 and 28.
According to the field report, each violator was fined ₹14,071, taking the total penalty to ₹56,284. The violations were reported at Kajheri, Japanese Garden parking in Sector 31-A and Burail for littering and improper disposal of waste.
MCC appealed to residents, shopkeepers and commercial establishments to dispose of waste responsibly, follow proper waste segregation and use designated disposal facilities. The civic body reiterated that strict action against littering will continue across the city to safeguard Chandigarh’s cleanliness.
