AAP Government Is Silencing Those Who Raise Their Voices Against Drugs: Kewal Dhillon

Protests With Black Turbans, Black Dupattas and Black Flags to Continue Until Justice Is Delivered: Punjab BJP President

Chandigarh, October 18-Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon has announced that he will wear a black turban until justice is delivered in the murder case of young anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota. He began wearing a black turban today to register his protest against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab.

It may be recalled that Dhillon joined the ongoing protest in Mansa on Saturday, demanding justice for Parvinder Singh Jhota. During his visit, he appealed to the people of Punjab to register their protest by wearing black turbans and black dupattas and carrying black flags until justice is delivered. Parvinder Singh’s father, Sardar Bhim Singh, and the people participating in the protest accepted his appeal.

Dhillon said, “What has happened to a young man who raised his voice against drugs has deeply shaken the people of Punjab. A young man who was fighting to save Punjab’s youth from drugs was brutally murdered. This is not merely the murder of Parvinder Singh; it is also a murder of law and order in Punjab.”

He said he had joined the protest as a member of the bereaved family’s extended family. There, he had urged people to register their protest against what he described as an insensitive and unresponsive government by wearing black and carrying black flags. He has now started wearing a black turban himself and will continue to do so until justice is delivered.

Dhillon said the black turban was not merely a piece of clothing but a symbol of protest against the government’s failure. He appealed to all Punjabis to unite and stand up for the aggrieved family. He said peaceful protests and the struggle for justice would continue until the family received full justice. “The BJP stands firmly with the family and will raise its voice for justice at every level,” he said.

The Punjab BJP president alleged that instead of curbing drugs, the AAP government was trying to silence those who raised their voices against the menace. He said Gulzar Singh of Toor Banjara, who had spoken out against drugs, was earlier driven to suicide, followed by the murder of Parvinder Singh Jhota. Subsequently, Bikramjit Singh from the village of Mari Pannwan in Gurdaspur was also murdered, he added.

Dhillon said the government had completely failed to curb drugs and safeguard Punjab’s interests. He demanded that the Chief Minister take moral responsibility for the government’s failure and resign immediately. He warned that the people of Punjab would no longer tolerate the government.

AAP Leaders Now Admit Government Has Failed to Eradicate Drugs in Punjab: Avinash Rai Khanna

Jalandhar, October 18, 2026-Former Punjab BJP president Avinash Rai Khanna said leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had now acknowledged that their government had failed to eradicate drugs from Punjab. In a statement, Khanna said the resignation of 33 prominent AAP-linked leaders, including office-bearers of the Nasha Mukti Morcha and block presidents in the Shutrana Assembly constituency, reflected the government’s failure to tackle the drug menace. He said the leaders who had resigned had themselves admitted that the government had failed to curb the problem.

Khanna said AAP’s decline had begun, with its leaders now abandoning what he described as a sinking ship. He pointed out that the Nasha Mukti Morcha, which the state government had projected as its most powerful weapon in the fight against drugs, was now witnessing its own office-bearers stepping down in frustration over the government’s functioning. This, he said, was a matter of serious concern for the state government.

Commenting on the murder of anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota, Khanna criticised the state government and reiterated that the BJP would not allow the fight for justice to lose momentum. He also renewed his demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the case, stressing that those who raise their voices against drugs must be provided adequate security.

Among those who announced their resignations in the Shutrana Assembly constituency were Nasha Mukti Morcha district president Ranjit Singh Vicky, block president K.P. Sharma, Ghagga block president Shakti Goel, Haryau block president Amarinder Singh and coordinator Nand Lal Ghagga. The group comprises 33 leaders, including 25 block presidents. The resigning leaders alleged that the state government had failed to curb the drug trade in Punjab
