Chandigarh August 14, 2024- The event marks a collaborative effort between Panjab University and the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) to foster environmental awareness and national pride while aligning with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

As India moves towards 78 years of Independence during the Amrit Kaal, this booklet provides an opportunity to celebrate our freedom, glorious history, and the values we carry. The Independence Day celebrations echo the spirit of 'Viksit Bharat', reflecting the vision of a progressive, inclusive, and empowered India becoming a developed nation by 2047 i.e. 100 years after independence.

The "Kids and Vaayu" series, developed by Dr. Suman Mor, Professor, Department of Environment Studies, Panjab University, and Dr. Ravindra Khaiwal, Professor, Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, PGIMER, aims to educate children about environmental awareness and sustainability, impact on health and now incorporates themes of national pride and development.

During the launch, Prof. Vig emphasized the importance of engaging young minds in nation-building efforts. "This comic book will play a crucial role in creating a generation of environmentally conscious and patriotic citizens," Prof. Vig stated. "By educating our children about environmental issues and instilling a sense of national pride, we are investing in a cleaner, healthier, and more developed future for India."

The booklet specifically addresses key themes of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav & Viksit Bharat Abhiyan'.

Dr. Ravindra Khaiwal added, "This comic aligns perfectly with the Viksit Bharat @2047 goal of creating an environmentally sustainable and patriotic India. It's a step towards nurturing a generation that values clean air, understands its role in India's progress, and takes pride in our national symbols."

Dr. Suman Mor highlighted the synergy between environmental consciousness and national development. "While the 'Kids and Vaayu' series focuses on our responsibility towards the environment, the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' component reminds us of our duty to our nation. Together, they embody the spirit of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' - One Earth, One Family, One Future, which is at the core of the Viksit Bharat vision."
