Ludhiana 28 June 2024-Veterinary and Livestock Innovation and Incubation Foundation (VLIIF), Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, Punjab organized Start-up and Entrepreneurship Grand Challenge in collaboration with Start-up Punjab, Govt. of Punjab and it concluded on 28th June, 2024. Dr. R.S. Sethi, Director, VLIIF and Dean, College of Dairy and Food Science Technology, said that event was a great success as a lot of enthusiasm was seen among the youth during Start-up and Entrepreneurship Grand Challenge.

He informed that the two day event was divided into parts as lectures and an idea pitching session. Dr. Alix Hayden, Director, Innovation Mobilization & Partnerships, University of Saskatchewan, Canada, Dr. E.K. Radhakrishnan, MG University, Kottayam, Ms Anima Mishra, Founder & CEO, Ekara Financials, Dr. Ramandeep Singh, Director, School of Business Studies, PAU, Ludhiana, Mr. Rajneesh Tuli, State Lead Project Manager, Punjab Agro Industries Corporation, Chandigarh, CA Sahil Makkar, Chairman & CEO, Punjab Angels Network and Dr. Munish Jindal, Founding President, MENTORx delivered their lectures on various aspects of entrepreneurship and also shared their personal experiences.

In two sessions of idea pitching under Entrepreneur and student category best three were selected and cash prizes were given. These ideas were on Innovative and sustainable solutions to solve problems in livestock, dairy and fisheries sectors. Under ideas pitching category Mr. Jaspreet Singh Sandhu got first prize and received a cash prize of Rs. 51,000, Mr. Aditya Tyagi got second prize and received cash prize of Rs.31,000 and Mr. Vaidyanath Bobbili got third prize and received a cash prize of Rs.21,000.

Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor, congratulated the winners and praised Dr. R.S. Sethi and his team for the initiative to establish the ecosystem for entrepreneurship.
