Distt. Crime Cell of Chandigarh Police arrested Ajay Kumar R/o # 896, Sector-47A, Chandigarh, Age 29 Years (2) Gursagar R/o # 2490, Sector-38C, Chandigarh, Age 24 Years and (3) Ravi R/o # 629, Village Daria, Chandigarh, Age 31 Years and recovered 3 boxes of illegal liquor from their possession near Petrol Pump, Sector 20, Chandigarh on 11.07.2024. A case FIR No. 57, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act & 318(2), 61(2) BNS has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Later they were bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

A case FIR No. 67, U/S 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-Cyber Crime, Chandigarh on the complaint of Pushpinder Singh R/o # 1635, Sector-36D, Chandigarh who reported that unknown persons cheated Rs. 40,00,000/- on pretext of online investment & trading. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 68, U/S 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-Cyber Crime, Chandigarh on the complaint of Ajay Jain R/o # 135, Sector-38-A, Chandigarh who reported that unknown persons cheated Rs. 33,04,400/- regarding investment in different tasks. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Assault/Quarrel

A case FIR No. 52, U/S 115(2), 118(1), 126(2), 351(2), 3(5) BNS has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh on the complaint of Rishab R/o # 144, Nanak Enclave, Village Jhampur, Distt. Mohali, PB who alleged that two persons Eddy and Gilheri attacked the complainant with sharp edge weapon at Community Centre, EWS Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh on 11.07.2024. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Rajesh Kumar R/o # 847, Ph-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away his cash box from Guga Mari, 3BRD, Chandigarh on 05.07.2024. A case FIR No. 135, U/S 305 BNS has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Navmeet Singh R/o # 2795/2, Sector-49, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away one bag and one camera from his house on 11.07.2024. A case FIR No. 44, U/S 305 BNS has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 111, U/S 106(1), 125, 281 BNS has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of Manish Rana R/o # 3359, Sector-40-D, Chandigarh who alleged driver of Ertiga car No. PB-38L-1030 rashly & negligently drove his vehicle due to which their M/Cycle No. CH-01AG-7013 struck with alleged vehicle near Badheri Barrier, Chandigarh on 10-07-2024. Complainant & Motorcycle driver Abhishesh R/o Village Tippuprla, Distt. Kangra, HP, Age 26 Years sustained injuries and admitted to Max Hospital, Ph-6, Mohali, PB, where Abhishesh expired during treatment. Alleged person Kushwinder Pal Singh R/o # 82, Model Town, Bathinda, PB, Age 41 Years arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

• THREE ACCUSED ARRESTED IN EXCISE ACT AND CHEATING.
• ONE OF THE ACCUSED IS WORKING IN BOTTLING PLANT AND OTHER ONE IS WORKING IN BEER COMPANY IN CHANDIGARH
• RECOVERY:- TOTAL 46 BOTTLES OF ILLEGAL LIQUOR, TWO CARS AND ONE ACTIVA

Chandigarh,12.07.24-Keeping in view the present scenario and criminal activity incidents occurred in the city and special drive against illegal liquor supplier, team of District crime cell under the close supervision of Sh. Rajneesh, DSP/DCC and Inspector Jasminder Singh, I/C DCC, teams of District Crime Cell succeeded in arresting three persons in Excise Act and cheating.

BRIEF FACTS:-

Case FIR No. 57 Dt. 11.07.2024 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act and 318(2), 61(2) added 336(3) BNS PS-19, U.T, Chandigarh.

On 11.07.2024, ASI Rajesh along with officials of District Crime Cell-24 was on patrolling duty in UT area for prevention and detection of crime. During patrolling they reached Sector 20 C Chd market and met secret informer, who informed about the persons who are selling illegal liquor in Chandigarh. On this secret information ASI Rajesh along with police officials laid a naka near sector 20 C/D dividing road and apprehend a person Raja Seth S/o Lt Ajay Kumar R/o # 896, sector 47 A Chd Age 29 Years while he was carrying 18 bottles of illegal liquor marka Chivas regal 18 Yrs blended scotch whisky in his car. Excise official was called on spot to verify and videography of the seizure of said illicit liquor was conducted as per the new implemented laws U/s 105 BNSS. Case FIR No. 57 Dt. 11.07.2024 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act and 318(2), 61(2) added 336(3) BNS PS-19, U.T, Chd was registered against accused Raja Seth and he was arrested on the spot. Recovered illegal liquor and his car taken into police possession through seizure memo.

On the instant of accused Raja Seth his associates namely Ravi S/o Azad Singh R/o #629, near bora wali gali, Dariya Chd Age 31 Years alongwith 14 illegal liquor marka Chivas regal 18 Yrs blended scotch whisky and Gurusagar S/o Maninder Raj Singh R/o # 2490, Sector-38 C Chd Age 24 Years alongwith 14 illegal liquor marka Chivas regal 18 Yrs blended scotch whisky were apprehended. Excise official verify the spot and videography of the seizure of said illicit liquor was conducted. Both the accused Ravi and Gurusagar were arrested and illegal liquor alongwith their vehicles i.e one car and Activa, which they used to transport the illegal liquor were taken into police possession through seizure memo.

As per the investigation it has been revealed that they have sold different brands of liquor by mixing cheap brands in the empty bottles of premium brands i.e Chivas Regal 18 Yrs, Glenddifch 12 Yrs, 18 Yrs, 21 Yrs, Gold Label, Glenlivet 12 Yrs, 18 Yrs, 21 Yrs, Royal Salute 21 Yrs, Blue label 21 Yrs, Glenmorangie etc., and have further sold them in different areas of tri-city. All the three accused were presented before the Hon’ble court and 02 days police remand was obtained. Further investigation of the case is in progress.
