Chandigarh, July 15:- In a commitment to foster skill development, empower the city's youth, promote sustainable practices, and enhance overall well-being in alignment with SBM 2.0, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh organized a "Waste to Art" display and exhibition under the Safai Apnao Bimaari Bhagao Campaign held at Dev Samaj College for Women, Sector 45, in commemoration of World Youth Skills Day, the event showcased the remarkable talent and creativity of young artists.

The exhibition featured unique and thought-provoking art pieces crafted entirely from waste materials, especially single-use plastic waste, highlighting the participants' ability to transform discarded items into captivating works of art. Through this initiative, MCC aimed not only to showcase the artistic talents of Chandigarh's youth but also to raise awareness about sustainable practices and the importance of repurposing waste, motivating the community to adopt the Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (RRR) principle in life.

During the event, MCC representatives also distributed appreciation certificates to the participating artists in recognition of their outstanding contributions and dedication to the art form. The exhibition attracted a diverse audience, including local residents, students, and art enthusiasts, who were captivated by the unique and visually striking displays.

While speaking about the initiative, Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, MC Commissioner said that the World Youth Skills Day is a powerful reminder of the immense potential that lies within our younger generation. By providing platforms like the 'Waste to Art' exhibition, the MCC hopes to remove the barriers that often hinder the development of skills and unlock the true capabilities of the youth.
