CHANDIGARH, 13.10.24-Keeping in view security scenario of city and following the direction of Senior Officers to curb the nefarious activities of drug peddlers, a teams of Operations Cell Sector-26 U.T. Chandigarh under the close supervision of Sh. Mridul, IPS, SP/OPS and under supervision of Sh. P. Abhinandan, DANIPS, DSP/OPS further directions received from Insp. Sher Singh, I/C, OPS Cell arrested one person namely Deepak @ Deep S/o Sh. Satish Kumar R/o # 4485, Sector-49, Chandigarh, age-38 yrs under NDPS Act . Total 44.73 grams of Heroin has been recovered from his possession.

BRIEF FACTS

During the intervening night of 10/11.10.2024, the team of Operations Cell arrested a person namely Deepak Kumar @ Deep S/o Sh. Satish R/o # 4485, Sector 46, Chandigarh, Age 38 Years from near electricity pole no. 13, Advocate enclave, Sector 49, Chandigarh and recovered 44.73 Grams of Heroin from his possession. In this regard a case FIR no. 81 dated 11.10.2024 U/s 21 NDPS Act PS 49 Chandigarh has been registered against Deepak Kumar @ Deep. Previously a case FIR No.101 dated 17.05.2021 U/s 21 NDPS Act, PS-36, Chandigarh was also registered against accused Deepak Kumar @ Deep.

On 11.10.2024, accused namely Deepak Kumar @ Deep S/o Sh. Satish R/o # 4485 Sector 46, Chandigarh, Age 38 Years was produced in the Hon’ble Court of Sh. Tarun Kumar, JMIC (Duty Majistrate) and 02 days police remand of accused till 13.10.2024 was given by the Hon’ble Court.
