On the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti, Chief Minister Atishi visited the Bhagwan Valmiki Mandir located at Panchkuian Road on Thursday morning. She sought the blessings of Bhagwan Valmiki, offering a floral tribute, and circumambulating the temple while praying for the welfare of the people of Delhi.
After the ‘Valmiki Darshan’, Delhi CM Atishi shared a few snippets from the visit on her ‘X’ handle (erstwhile Twitter) stating, “Visited the Valmiki Temple at Panchkuian Road on the occasion of Bhagwan Valmiki's Prakatotsav and sought his blessings."
Speaking on the occasion, CM Atishi highlighted that Bhagwan Valmiki is revered for holding a pen, which symbolizes the transformative power of education. "The pen in Bhagwan Valmiki's hand is a reminder that anyone, no matter how marginalized, can progress in life through education," she said.
She further added, "Bhagwan Valmiki taught that education is the path to societal advancement. Following his guidance, we are committed to providing world-class education to every child in Delhi. The progress of our society is directly linked to the education of our children."
CM Atishi emphasized that the government in Delhi, under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party, is the only one in the country truly following in the footsteps of Bhagwan Valmiki by offering world-class education to underprivileged children, empowering them to move forward.
She concluded, "We are dedicated to building an educated and developed India by upholding Bhagwan Valmiki's values of religion, equality, and humanity."

NEW DELHI-17.10.24-Under guidance of Arvind Kejriwal, F&S Minister Imran Hussain today inaugurated various development works including Improvement and Development work by providing RMC and Drainage system at Farash Khana Main road, Gali Meer Jumla & at Gali Madarsa in Ballimaran. During the area visit, MCD councilor M. Sadiq, officers of MCD, BSES and Delhi Jal Board along with eminent personalities of the area were also present.
Taking a forward step towards fulfilling the commitment made to the residents of Ballimaran area, MLA and Cabinet Minister Imran Hussain dedicated various development works to the people. Giving impetus to the development works in Ballimaran assembly, Imran Hussain inaugurated the development work of RMC Road and Drainage System at Farash Khana Main road, Gali Meer Jumla & at Gali Madarsa in Ballimaran. During the interaction the Minister also informed that development work of RMC Road and Drainage System into 13 lanes at Gali from Sadar Nala Road, Gali Khatikaan, Sarai Khalil, DDA flat Footpath, Gali Basti harphool Singh, Sarai Khalil Boundary wall, Chimnimill Park, Qutub Road- Sadar Nalla Road, Pan Mandi Sadar Nala Road, Sadar bazaar , Ghante wali Masjid to Kisan Masale Wala, Gali Basti Harphool Singh and Nawab Road are also being commenced with an estimated cost of approx Rs. 2.75 Crores. The Minister instructed MCD officers to complete the various development works on stipulated time.
On this occasion, Imran Hussain said that the Delhi government is making concrete efforts by giving priority to public welfare works so that welfare works can be completed on priority basis. Under the guidance of Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Government fulfills all the promises made to them with guarantee in this country. Imran Hussain said that under the guidance of Arvind Kejriwal, development works are being carried out on priority in Ballimaran legislative assembly and will be at great pace in future also.
During the visit at Gali Madarsa meer Jhumla, few residents raised their concern regarding low pressure of water in the area, taking cognizance of the matter, the Minister assured the residents that all grievances related to the water supply of the area would be resolved as soon as possible. Considering the issue, the Minister further directed DJB officers to install new water pipelines in place of damaged pipelines wherever required to ensure proper and equitable water supply to the residents. The Minister asked the Delhi Jal Board officers to install the new water pipeline separately from the drainage system.
The Minister’s attention was also drawn to the non-functioning of street lights at a few locations. Minister Imran Hussain on spot directed the BSES officials to identify the dark spots in consultation with the residents for installing new high mast lights and refitment of non-functional street lights in the Ballimaran assembly constituency. Imran Hussain directed BSES that no wire should be hanging low in the area and directed the BSES officials to conduct inspection of the area to ensure complete safety of the residents.

NEW DELHI:17.10.24-The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is in rapid action mode to curb pollution in Delhi. Environment Minister Gopal Rai has called an emergency meeting on Friday with officials from relevant departments following rising pollution levels. The Minister instructed immediate action and the launch of special campaigns in the affected areas.
Delhi’s Environment Minister, Gopal Rai, stated that the AAP government had announced its Winter Action Plan on 25 September, focusing on 21 key points to combat winter pollution. Departments have already started implementing the plan.
Sharing the preparations to tackle the rising pollution in Delhi, the Minister said, “A War Room has been set up to monitor pollution activities, and bio-decomposer spraying has commenced to manage crop stubble. An anti-dust campaign has also been initiated at construction sites to control dust pollution.”
Gopal Rai highlighted that Delhi’s air quality has been consistently improving due to strict measures taken by the government. He said, “In the last nine years, air pollution in Delhi has decreased by 34.6%. To bring further improvement, the government launched an anti-dust campaign on 7 October, which will run for a month as part of the Winter Action Plan.”
The Environment Minister emphasised that all construction sites must adhere to 14 specific regulations related to dust control. “Teams will take strict action in case of violations, and regular monitoring of construction sites has been ordered. To further improve air quality, 523 teams have been deployed, along with 500 water sprinklers and 85 mechanical road sweeping (MRS) machines across Delhi,” added the Minister.
Gopal Rai further shared that the Green War Room is keeping a close watch on all 13 hotspots. He continued, “Instructions are being issued to concerned departments from the War Room, and DPCC teams are conducting frequent visits to these areas.”
The Minister stated that various agencies are working together to address Delhi’s pollution problem, and the Green War Room has been established to coordinate these efforts. The War Room is also responsible for forwarding pollution-related complaints received via the Green Delhi App to the 33 relevant departments and monitoring the resolution of these complaints.
