CHANDIGARH, December 26:Punjab Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Minister S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian handed over appointment letters to 11 youth in Animal Husbandry department here at his office, on Thursday. Among these, seven has been appointed as Veterinary Inspector, three Steno Typist and one class four in the department.

While congratulating the newly-recruited officials, S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian said that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab government has been making concerted efforts to provide employment opportunities to the youth of the state and around 50,000 jobs have already been given in various departments of the state government in just its 33-month regime.

The Animal Husbandry Minister exhorted the officials to work for the development of Punjab and to give their utmost to ensure transparent and efficient delivery of services to the people of the state. He said that this recruitment process has been carried out solely based on merit, following a completely transparent procedure.

Director Animal Husbandry Dr. GS Bedi and other officials of the department were also present on the occasion.

Punjab becomes first state to resolve online complaints of NRI Punjabis

Punjab Government orders civil and police officials to resolve related complaints in a speedy manner

Chandigarh, December 26:Punjab has become the first state in the country to resolve the problems of NRI Punjabis through online medium. Now any NRI Punjabi can register a complaint online regarding any matter related to the state of Punjab. This new facility has been started in December 2024. After assuming power, the Punjab Government has made continuous efforts to ensure quick and concrete resolution of the problems and grievances of NRI Punjabis.

The Punjab Government resolved the problems of NRI Punjabis on priority basis during the year 2024. As per the directions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann, four "NRI Milni" programs were organized in February 2024, during which a large number of complaints were resolved.

Under the unique facility called "Online NRI Milni" started by the NRI Department of the Punjab Government, Punjabis living in different countries can bring their issues and complaints directly before the departmental minister, senior officers and senior police officers of the NRI wing.

In this online Milni, the minister of the department, senior officers of the NRI Department Punjab and senior police officers of the NRI wing try to resolve the complaints received on the spot.

During this "Online NRI Milni", organized in the first week of every month, most of the complaints are related to the Revenue and Police Departments, while 20 percent of the complaints are already under hearing in various courts. For those online complaints which are related to the districts, instructions are given to the civil and police officers of the concerned district through telephonically.

Cabinet Minister for NRI Affairs S. Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that the Punjab Government has directed the Deputy Commissioners and SSPs of all districts to resolve the complaints of overseas Punjabis on priority basis. At the district level, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioners, various complaints are being resolved with the help of the concerned departments.

Chandigarh, December 26:The Punjab Government has taken a significant step towards improving the quality of services provided by Anganwadi centers by announcing the construction of 1,000 new centers across the state.

Sharing details, Social Security, Women, and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur stated that the Punjab Government will build these centers under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). Each center will be constructed at a cost of ₹12 lakh. To ensure a child- and mother-friendly environment, these centers will include proper flooring, painting, plumbing, electrification and woodwork.

The Cabinet Minister further explained that the construction work under MGNREGA is being carried out in collaboration with the Department of Rural Development. This initiative integrates resources following the guidelines of the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS). Dr. Kaur also mentioned that 53 centers have already been completed, focusing on providing high-quality facilities in Punjab.

In addition to constructing new centers, the Punjab Government is upgrading 350 existing Anganwadi centers across the state. These upgraded centers will feature enhanced facilities to ensure better service delivery for beneficiaries.

She highlighted that the upgradation work is progressing rapidly and the government aims to complete all upgraded Anganwadi centers by January 31, 2025. This reflects the Government’s commitment to improving infrastructure.

Speaking on the importance of these projects, Social Security Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said, “This initiative ensures holistic development by improving the infrastructure of care centers for children and mothers.”

Cabinet Sub-Committee Engages with Employee Unions to Address Key Issues

Chandigarh, December 26-The Cabinet Sub-Committee comprising Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Thursday held a detailed meeting with representatives from various unions. The meeting aimed to discuss and resolve the pressing issues faced by the employees.

The representatives from Powercom C.H.B Lineman Theka Mulazan Union, Sarb Sikhiya Abhiyan Mid Day Meal Daftri Mulazm Union, and Adarsh School Teaching Non-Teaching Mulazam Union presented their memorandums to the Cabinet Sub-committee, outlining their key demands and concerns. The unions highlighted various issues related to their working conditions, job security, and other essential aspects.

During the meetings, the Cabinet Sub-Committee engaged in an in-depth discussion on the demands put forth by the union representatives. CHANDIGARH/FATEHGARH SAHIB, December 26:

With the annual Shaheedi Sabha to commemorate the martyrdom of Chhote Sahibzaade commenced at Fatehgarh Sahib, Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav on Thursday paid obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and reviewed security arrangements at the spot to ensure smooth passage to the devotees.

The three-day annual Shaheedi Sabha to pay homage to Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, the youngest sons of the 10th Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh has been commenced at Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib from Wednesday.

DGP Gaurav Yadav, who was accompanied by DIG Ropar Range Harcharan Singh Bhullar and SSP Fatehgarh Sahib Dr Ravjot Grewal, conducted a review of the security and traffic arrangements made for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the Shaheedi Sabha.

He said that over 4,000 police personnel have been deployed in the round-the-clock duty with area of the the arrangement of the area divided into five sectors each under the command of a gazetted officer to ensure that general public won’t face any hassle in paying obeisance. A clear VIP route, which also serves as the emergency route, has also been delineated, he added.

“Our main duty is to ensure smooth passage to the devotees and Punjab Police will guide and facilitate all the devotees like a friend,” he said, while adding that all the police personnel have been directed to adopt the utmost humble approach towards the sangat.

The DGP said that sufficient number of Closed Circuit Television (CCTv) cameras have been installed at all the routes and coverage is being monitored through a control room to ensure the safety and security the public.

Meanwhile, a total of 20 parking spaces have been earmarked and shuttle bus service between the parking area and Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib has been expanded to 100 buses for the convenience of the devotees. The entire city has been converted into a one-way traffic route.

NATIONAL POLICY FRAMEWORK ON AGRICULTURAL MARKETING LACKS CLARITY ON MSP

Chandigarh, December 26:Minutely studying every thread and fiber of National Policy Framework on Agricultural Marketing, Punjab is in no mood to leave any of its clauses unconsidered, and a team of officers and agriculture experts is even decoding the message in between the lines.

The Punjab Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian, along with Punjab Mandi Board Chairman S. Harchand Singh Barsat and senior officers of the state government, today conducted a brainstorm session with Arthiyas and Rice Millers of the state seeking their valuable inputs and suggestions on the draft of this policy.

During the in-depth discussions that run for more than two hours, it was come to fore that the draft policy is totally silent on the Minimum Support Price (MSP), which is the most crucial for the state farmers and the clause regarding promoting the private markets will lead to overshadow the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) markets. They apprehend that once the APMC markets fall into disarray, it would lead to exploitation of the farmers and traditional traders.

The Agriculture Minister said that RDF and MDF is a crucial for maintaining Punjab’s extensive agricultural infrastructure, especially Mandi infrastructure and maintaining roads connecting these mandis to the villages.

The Agriculture Minister appealed to the Arthiyas led by Vijay Kalra and Ravinder Singh Cheema and Rice Millers led by Tarsem Saini to send their inputs and concerns to Punjab Mandi Board so that it could be incorporated in the reply to be sent to the union government.

S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian reiterated that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government is committed to protect interests of the farmers of the state and will do everything possible to safeguard the farmers rights.
