Chandigarh, 26.12.24-Thalassaemic Charitable Trust (TCT) organized its 309^th Blood Donation Camp on 25^th Dec. 2024 dedicated to Shaheedi Jod Mel at Gurudwara Sahib - Bagh Shaheedan, Sector 44, Chandigarh. TCT and Rehmat Foundation organizes Shaheedi Jod Mela every year on 24th and 25th December to commemorate the sacrifices of Younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji in the year 1705. On 24^th December a light and sound program was shown in a school in New Chandigarh area. There was also organized Organ Donation Camp by PGIMER Chandigarh.

Hon’ble 65 voluntary blood donors donated blood in this camp and Hon’ble 17 voluntary donors registered their names for Organ Donation. Sh. Sukhwinder Singh-Manager Gurudwara Sahib Sector 44 also donated blood 7^th time. Shri Satya Pal Jain, Dy Solicitor General and Ex-Member Parliament, Shri Balbir Singh Sidhu, Ex-Minister Punjab, Shri Sanjay Tandon a prominent BJP leader, Smt Harjinder Kaur, Executive Member SGPC and Gurinder Singh Sodhi, PCS, Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, Prof(Dr) Sandeep Sandhu grace the occasion and blessed the blood donors by presenting Blood Donor Badge and Certificates.

The camp was successfully ended under the guidance of Prof(Dr.) Ratti Ram Sharma-HOD, Deptt. of Transfusion Medicine PGI and their respective team.

Rajinder Kalra, Member Secretary of the Trust emphasised the need for voluntary blood donation to save thalassaemic patients who needs regular blood transfusions after 15-20 days and precious lives needing blood support. They thanked all blood donors and the team of Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER Chandigarh for this camp.
