CHANDIGARH, 01.03.25-In a bid to promote awareness about India’s electoral process and democratic heritage, the Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) of Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector-50, Chandigarh organized an educational tour to the iconic Rashtrapati Bhavan for 58 students, on 01 March, 2025. Principal Dr Shashi Wahi Kullar, and Dean Dr Sangam Kapoor, flagged off the bus in the evening. This visit aimed to provide the students with a deeper understanding of India’s constitutional framework and the role of the President in the country’s democratic system.

The students along with staff were welcomed by officials from the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The visit began with an introduction to the rich history and significance of the presidential residence, followed by a tour of its various sections, including the Change of Guard, Amrit Udyan Gardens, the Rashtrapati Bhavan Building and Museum.

Throughout the tour, students were made aware about the architecture of the Bhavan, the historical events that have taken place here, and the ceremonial functions hosted at the venue. Special emphasis was laid on the President’s role in the Indian political system, and the importance of voting and participation in elections, which align with the core objectives of the Electoral Literacy Club.During the interactive session, the students had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions with the Rashtrapati Bhavan officials, further enriching their understanding of the democratic processes.
