One arrested by using Fake number plate
A Case FIR No. 30 u/s 341(2), 340(2), 318(4) BNS has been registered at the concerned Police Station 26 against Ajay Kumar Gupta R/o PH-11, Mohali, Punjab, Age 32 years, who was apprehended near Polytechnic College, Sec-26, Chandigarh, on 02-03-2025 with a Splendor motorcycle bearing a fake number plate (CH-04B-7699). The original number of the motorcycle is CH-01AH-5966. The accused has been arrested. Investigation of the case is in progress
One arrested under NDPS Act
A Case FIR No. 51 u/s 22 NDPS Act has been registered at the Police Station 31 against Puran @ Prachin R/o Ram Darbar, Chandigarh, Age 21 years, who was apprehended on 03-03-2025 at about 4:30 PM near Govt. Toilet, Tu Hi Tu Mandir, PH-2 Ram Darbar, Chandigarh. 12 injections of Buprenorphine Hydrochloride (Buprigesic 01 ML each) and 12 injections of sterile water for injection (05 ML each) were recovered from his possession. The accused has been arrested. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested under Arms Act
A Case FIR No. 52 u/s 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at the Police Station 31 against R/o Vill. Faidan, Chandigarh, Age 24 years, who was apprehended at Sec-47 C/D turn on 03-03-2025 with a Kamandiar knife in his possession. The accused has been arrested. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Cheating
A Case FIR No. 11 u/s 419, 420, 120B IPC has been registered at Police Station Cyber on the complaint of Nitin Kumar R/o # 5B, Sec-30B, Chandigarh against an unknown person who cheated the complainant for $6,107 on the pretext of providing work-from-home opportunities. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A Case FIR No. 18 u/s 318(4), 336(3) BNS has been registered at the concerned Police Station on 19 the complaint of Adarsh Bhardwaj R/o Rajpura, Punjab against Irfan R/o Vill. Pabhat, Zirakpur, SAS Nagar, Punjab, who used the complainant’s PAN card for taking a loan. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Theft
A Case FIR No. 32 u/s 32 303(2) BNS has been registered at the concerned Police Station 11 on the complaint of Satwinder Singh R/o Dera Bassi (PB) Age 67 years, against an unknown person who stole his gold kada (25.80 grams) from outside the new OPD gate at PGI, Chandigarh, on 13-02-2025. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A Case FIR No.16 u/s 305(A) BNS has been registered at the Police Station 49 on the complaint of Michal R/o GMCH Campus, Sec-48, Chandigarh, against an unknown person who stole gold and silver jewelry from the complainant’s house on 03-03-2025 between 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Accident
A Case FIR No. 42 u/s 281, 125(A) BNS has been registered at the Police Station 36 on the complaint of Pardeep R/o Vill- Kajheri, Chandigarh against Puran Singh R/o Vill- Matti, Distt- Pathankot (PB), driver of Punjab Roadways Bus No. PB-06BB-3753, who hit the complainant’s pedestrian friend Charan Singh R/o Vill- Bhagowan, Distt- Roop Nagar (PB), near Exit Gate, ISBT-43, Chandigarh, on 02-03-2025 at about 10:45 AM. Charan Singh sustained injuries and was admitted to PGI. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Dog bite
A Case FIR No. 43 u/s 291 BNS has been registered at the Police Station 36 against Mohinderpal R/o Sec-40B, Age 59 years, whose pet dog attacked and bit the complainant near Bus Stop, Sec-42, Chandigarh, on 03-03-2025. The victim sustained injuries. The accused was arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress .

Traffic Advisory 4.3.2025
In view of the special arrangements in Chandigarh, the traffic movement on certain road stretches may be regulated on 05.03.2025 to ensure smooth vehicular flow and public safety. The affected road stretches where traffic regulations may be imposed include the following:
The affected stretches include Zirakpur Barrier, Faidan Barrier, the dividing road of Sector 48/49, Sector 49/50, Sector 50/51 (Jail Road), Sector 51/52 (Mattaur Barrier), Sector 52/53 (Kajheri Chowk), Sector 53/54 (Furniture Market), Sector 54/55 (Badheri Barrier), Sector 55/56 (Palsora Barier), Naya Gaon Barrier and Mullanpur Barrier.
- In view of above, general public are advised to adopt the alternate routes to avoid any congestion/inconvenience.
- The movement of emergency vehicles will be made to facilitated.
