MAHENDERGARH, 05.03.25-Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh (Graded ‘A’ by NAAC) is set to introduce new distance education programmes under the Open Distance Learning initiative which has been approved by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB) of the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi. The three newly approved programmes include Master of Arts (MA) in Journalism and Mass Communication, MA in Hindi, and M. Com.
Professor (Dr.) Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Haryana, stated that the introduction of these courses will pave the way for new avenues of learning through distance education, offering students more flexibility and opportunities for higher education in Southern Haryana and surrounding districts of Rajasthan. Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar also shared that CUH is the first University among those Universities established in 2009, by an Act of Parliament to be recognized by the DEB UGC, Ministry of Education, New Delhi. The distance education programmes are designed in accordance of NEP 2020 and follow the same syllabus and credit structure as their conventional counterparts. All of these programmes will be offered on a semester basis.
Prof. Singara Singh, Director of the Centre for Distance and Online Education at the University, shared that all the study materials for these programmes have been prepared by the University's Professors and Renowned Professors of the other prestigious Institutes. He said that CUH has released the admission schedule and last date to enrol in these courses is March 31, 2025.
