Chandigarh, March 15 - Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that every human being must adopt the teachings of the holy book Gita in his life. Only through these teachings can the world be brought on one platform, because the solution to all the problems of the whole world, including fear, worries and stress, lies in these teachings. Not only this, to face all the challenges of the world, this divine book gives the message of knowledge and action.

The Chief Minister was speaking on the occasion of the inauguration of the three-day Divya Gita Satsang organized in the premises of Ladwa Hindu High School on Saturday with the cooperation of Shri Krishna Kripa. Earlier, the Chief Minister performed Aarti and honoured Gita scholar Swami Gyananand Maharaj by garlanding him. Gita scholar Swami Gyananand presented a memento to the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister announced a grant of Rs 21 lakh for the Divya Gita Satsang.

The Chief Minister said that since ancient times, saints and gurus have shown the true path of spirituality. Gita scholar Swami Gyananand is working as a carrier to take forward this tradition. Swami Gyananand is propagating the teachings of the holy book Gita in every corner of the world. It is due to the efforts of Swami Gyananand that the small celebration of Gita Jayanti has started being celebrated as an international festival since the year 2016. International Gita Mahotsav was organised not only in the country but also in Mauritius, London, Australia, Sri Lanka and Canada. The Gita Gyan Sansthanam has also played an important role in the successful organisation of these programmes. In this institute, good preachers are also being prepared to spread the teachings of Gita to the people.

He said that the teachings of the holy book Gita show the solution to all the problems of the 21st century and the path to the welfare of humanity. With these immortal messages, the whole world can be tied in a thread of unity and brotherhood.

Gita scholar Swami Gyananand Maharaj presented the story of the beginning of the holy book Gita on the first day of Divya Gita Satsang and said the holy book Gita has 700 verses. These verses show the path to solve worries and problems of the world.

He said that the holy book Gita was composed on the holy land of Kurukshetra. On this holy land, 5162 years ago, during the Mahabharata war, Lord Shri Krishna gave the message of doing karma to the entire humanity.

After the satsang programme, while talking to journalists, the Chief Minister said that in the assembly session, all the Opposition members were heard carefully and the answers to their questions were also given, but when the works done by the government for the development of the state were presented, all the Opposition members left the House.

He said the state budget will be presented in the assembly on March 17. This will be a budget for the welfare of every section, including the poor, farmers, women and youth.

Chandigarh March 15 - Haryana's Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that Union Minister Sh. Manohar Lal has played an important role in the development of Ambala Cantonment. He approved many projects and did not let any obstacle come in the way of development work.

Sh. Vij was addressing BJP leaders on the arrival of Union Minister Sh. Manohar Lal on the occasion of Holi at the Central Election Office of Ambala Cantonment today.

Sh. Vij raised the demand of running a metro train from Ambala to Chandigarh before Sh. Manohar Lal, the construction of which will benefit lakhs of people. He appreciated the cooperation of the Union Minister in getting Rs 130 crore sanctioned for Ambala's domestic airport.

Sh. Vij said that the people of Ambala Cantonment have expressed their support by electing 25 out of 32 councillors. He called upon the councillors to work responsibly.

Chandigarh, March 15 - Union Urban Development and Energy Minister Sh. Manohar Lal said that BJP workers are always ready for elections. He congratulated the winners of the civic elections in Ambala Cantonment and called upon them to work in public interest. On the occasion of Holi, he played Holi with flowers with Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij and BJP officials at the Central Election Office of Ambala Cantonment.

The Union Minister said that there is a wave of BJP in Haryana, which is getting widespread support from the public. He said that in the local body elections in Haryana, BJP has won by a big margin in Ambala Cantonment, Ambala City and entire Haryana. Congress and other parties have become weak due to the public welfare policies of BJP. He highlighted the continuous victory of BJP in Lok Sabha, Assembly, civic and rural elections since 2014 till now.

Chandigarh, March 15 – Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini directed all Deputy Commissioners to ensure desilting of drains and canals in their areas and take concrete steps so that there is no waterlogging anywhere in the state during the upcoming monsoon season.

The Chief Minister was chairing the 56th Meeting of Haryana State Drought Relief and Flood Control Board here today. During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasised that the focus of the Flood Control Board should be on raising structures and setting up robust infrastructure in cities and villages which can stop the flow of water into houses and fields during the monsoon season.

Focus on construction of stone studs & stone steining

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini emphasised the construction of stone studs, stone steining, remodelling of drains, construction of permanent pump houses, laying of pipelines in low lying areas and outfalling the flood water into drains across the state. He ordered the review of large number of stone studs constructed for flood control so that any non-functional studs can be timely repaired. He said an online portal must be created for this and the concerned Deputy Commissioners must carry out a survey of all the studs in their respective districts, and if any negligence is found, strict action should be taken against the erring contractor, including registration of FIR.

Equal focus on every region

The Chief Minister also ordered desilting of all large canals in the state and repair work of old canals. He also asked for a priority list of such projects and completion of all pending works at the earliest, adding that these cleanliness drives must be undertaken on a yearly basis. He also said that such works need to be carried out with equal focus on every region, so that equitable development can take place in the entire state.

352 schemes amounting to Rs 657.99 crore approved for flood control

The Haryana State Drought Relief and Flood Control Board considered and approved 352 schemes amounting to Rs 657.99 crore (State Head + HWRA fund) for flood control in the state. The Chief Minister directed to immediately take up the short term schemes as well as procurement of pumps and ensure their timely completion before June 30. Medium and long term schemes as proposed by Irrigation and Water Resources Department will be taken up after pre-flood review meeting to be held in May this year. The meeting was informed that 619 schemes for flood control have been completed while work is underway on 302 schemes. The procurement of different types of pumps, motors, panels etc. for dewatering and laying of pipelines for dewatering of flood water in permanent waterlogged areas having high Subsurface Water Level (SSWL) was also reviewed in the meeting.

No sewage water to be discharged in Yamuna

Issuing strict instructions, the Chief Minister ordered that no sewage water or polluted drain should fall into the Yamuna river as it was our collective responsibility to clean the Yamuna. He said we need to find alternate arrangements for the outflow of sewage water and especially directed the Deputy Commissioners of Panipat, Sonipat, Palwal and Yamunanagar districts to set up Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) in their districts to prevent polluted water from flowing into the Yamuna. The Chief Minister reiterated Haryana’s commitment to clean the Yamuna river permanently. He also directed officials to look into the functioning of 6 STPs in Masani Barrage in Rewari and ensure their maintenance.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also took district-wise report from all Deputy Commissioners regarrding the short-term, medium-term and long-term projects for flood control. He said the officials must work efficiently and ensure that these projects are completed within the prescribed timelines.

Creation of Zero Paddy areas

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said awareness drives can be taken out for farmers, encouraging them not to plant water-guzzling crops like paddy and switch to alternative crops to create Zero Paddy areas. He said the panchayats doing commendable work in this regard must be felicitated so that other farmers are also encouraged to practice diversification in agriculture. He also suggested creation of a short film or video to spread awareness on this issue.

Farmers should adopt modern agricultural techniques: Agriculture Minister

Awareness programme held on plant genetic resource management

Chandigarh, March 15 – Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana, said that farmers’ should adopt modern agriculture techniques for better farming.

He was addressing an awareness programme organised in collaboration with the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Damla, Yamunanagar and ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (ICAR-NBPGR), New Delhi today. This programme was organised on management of plant genetic resources under Scheduled Caste Sub Plan. MLA, Sh.Ghanshyam Dass Arora, Vice Chancellor, Agriculture University Hisar, Sh. B.R. Kamboj, Director, Extension Education, Dr. Balwan Singh were also present during the event.

While addressing the gathering Sh. Shyam Singh Rana encouraged farmers to adopt modern agriculture technologies and also shared information about government schemes such as Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture and Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, which aim to equip farmers with modern knowledge and tools to improve their agricultural practices, he added.

He further said that chemical-based farming has changed the nature of farming. Therefore, farmers’ should return to organic and natural farming to produce chemical-free food and ensure a cleaner environment.

Sh. Rana encouraged farmers to adopt chemical-free farming for their own consumption, as it would not only benefit their health but will also reduce farming costs.

27 vehicles challaned, Rs 2.88 lakh fine imposed for illegal mining in Yamunanagar

Chandigarh, March 15 - As per the instructions of Director General of Mining and Geology Department Sh. K.M. Pandurang, concrete steps are being taken against illegal mining. The Mining Department and district administration are continuously taking action against illegal mining and transportation.

Giving information in this regard, a spokesperson of the Mining and Geology Department said during the checking of 1487 vehicles by the district administration and Mining Department in Yamunanagar district, 27 vehicles were challaned and a fine of Rs 2.88 lakh was imposed.

He said during the checking of 685 vehicles by the teams of SDM Chhachhrauli, the RTA Department challaned 7 vehicles and imposed a fine of Rs 58,500. Similarly, while checking 189 vehicles by the teams of SDM Jagadhari, 8 vehicles were fined Rs. 1.84 lakh, while checking of 459 vehicles by the teams of SDM Radaur, 6 vehicles were fined Rs. 16,500. Further, on the checking of 154 vehicles by the team of SDM Vyaspur, 6 vehicles were fined Rs. 29,000 by challaning them. He said all the SDMs, Police Department and Mining Department officials of the district are carrying out checks round the clock.

*Government working for all-round development of Haryana: Krishan Kumar Bedi*

Chandigarh, March 15 - Haryana's Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi said mutual brotherhood and unity are the core of rural development. Public representatives and rural people should take advantage of the schemes implemented by the government by maintaining mutual coordination and cordial environment so that the development of the village gets momentum.

The minister was addressing meetings in Harnampura and Rewar villages of his Assembly constituency on Saturday. In the felicitation ceremony organized in Harnampura village, the Cabinet Minister also announced several projects for the development of the village. Sh. Bedi inaugurated two lanes constructed by the Panchayat Raj Department at a cost of about Rs. 32 lakh and also laid the foundation stone of Kashyap Chaupal to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 20 lakh and lane construction work at an estimated cost of Rs. 11.86 lakh. Similarly, during his visit, the Cabinet Minister approved other development works worth crores of rupees worth about Rs. 63.86 lakh. Apart from this, he also announced a grant of Rs. 50 lakh to the Gram Panchayat.

The Cabinet Minister said the government is constantly striving for the all-round development of the state and is working with dedication towards improving the lives of people. Narwana area will also participate equally in this wave of development projects. No stone will be left unturned for public works and development of the area. He said he will try to live up to the trust that the people of the area have expressed in him during the elections.

*Irrigation Minister Shruti Choudhry thanks CM Nayab Singh Saini for approving Rs 140 crore for various projects*

Chandigarh, March 15 - Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Smt. Shruti Choudhry expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini and said that in the 56th meeting of Haryana State Drought Relief and Flood Control Board held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, an amount of about Rs 52 crore has been approved for 17 projects of various villages for Bhiwani. An amount of about Rs 44 crore was approved for 28 projects of Dadri district and an amount of about Rs 44 crore was approved for 9 projects for Mahendragarh. In the meeting, the projects passed till the 55th meeting of the Board were reviewed and strict instructions were given regarding the projects which are pending or the work has not been completed. Smt. Shruti Choudhry informed that for Bhiwani district, irrigation projects would be implemented in the villages of Dhanana, Ramu Pura Baliali, Guskani, Premnagar, Dangkala, Dangkhurd, Bapodra, Dinod, Kairu, Laxmanpura, Legha Bhanan, Ladiawali, Rajpura Kharkadi, Sui, Gujrani, Mitathal etc. Water logging control measures will be implemented in these villages. Such projects will also be implemented in Dadri villages Imlota, Bhagvi, Swarupgarh, Santoor, Morwala, Bigova, Neemli, Rawaldhi, Kamod, Baund Kalan, Baundkhurd, Chhapar, Kaliyana, Khedi Bura, Beedbhairavi, Ghasaula, Kadama, Jayshree Malkaush, Nimdi, Akhtiyarpura, Dotki Pandawan, Kanheri, Loharwada, Samsapur, Kaliyana and Dadri city. At the same time, regarding the Krishnavali Canal in Mahendragarh's village Ateli, the minister made special mention of the water logging problem of villages Satnali, Gadaniya, Jatuwa, Bauchaili, Malda, Basai, Akoda, Khedi, Kheda, Khatod, Bawania, Malda, Bas, Gadi, Khedki, Jirpur, Bausampur Rajawas. She requested the Chief Minister that waterlogging control works should be done especially in Satgama, Bond and Bapodra of Dadri.

The minister said that the Haryana Government is taking concrete steps by giving priority to water conservation and disaster management. The Irrigation Minister directed the department officials to complete these projects by the end of May, 2025.
