Patiala/ Chandigarg, April 14: After garlanding the statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, on his 135th birth anniversary on April 14, Bharatiya Janata Party Scheduled Caste Morcha Vice President Paramjit Singh Kainth said that we know him as Baba Saheb, he was a famous jurist, economist and social reformer. His self-confidence, individualism and spirit of opposition to tyranny show us the way to live life with dignity.

Wishing best wishes on Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti, Sardar Kainth said that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was born on April 14, 1891 in Mhow in present-day Madhya Pradesh. He was the 14th and last child of Ramji Maloji Sakpal, a subedar in the British Indian Army, and Bhimabai, a homemaker. Despite facing severe social discrimination due to his Dalit background, Ambedkar's father taught him the importance of education, discipline, and self-respect. Ambedkar advocated for the rights of Dalits throughout his life, tirelessly fighting against untouchability and advocating for social justice and equality. His significant contributions include his role in transforming the political lives of millions, including signing the Poona Pact in 1932, which ensured reserved seats for Dalits in legislatures. He founded organisations such as the Bahishkrit Hitakarini Sabha and the Scheduled Castes Federation to promote education, socio-economic advancement, and political representation for marginalised communities.

As the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, Ambedkar ensured that it included provisions for social justice, equality, and fundamental rights. The BJP leader said that for social reforms, Baba Saheb Ambedkar worked to eradicate untouchability and promote Buddhism and eventually converted to Buddhism in 1956. Sardar Kainth said that his teachings show the way to inspire you to fight for rights and justice. Undoubtedly they provide us an opportunity to learn a lot, guide us to face the challenges of the times and achieve our goals at the national and international level. We should educate ourselves and try to improve the society. Dalit leader Kainth said that let us follow the teachings of Baba Saheb to make this earth a better place to live. The ideals of Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar inspire us to build a nation based on equality, freedom and justice. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government has given true respect by building his memorial. The NDA government is making Baba Saheb's dreams come true. On this occasion, Rajpal Singh Raji, Chand Singh, Naib Singh, Gurlal Singh, Jasvir Singh and Gursevak Singh were also with him.
