Chandigarh / Rupnagar, April 28:Punjab Transport Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar today announced that to bring greater transparency to Punjab's transport services, the state government will introduced HAMS technology shortly.

During his visit to the RTO office Ropar, S. Laljit Singh Bhullar said that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government will soon develop HAMS (Harnessing Automobile for Safety) technology, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based automated driver license test system to bring more transparency and efficiency to driving test tracks. After implementing this pilot project, significant improvement in the performance of all driving test tracks in the state will be ensured, he added.

The Transport Minister said that ensuring good driving behaviour and skills is key to improving road safety and keeping these facts in mind, this new initiative will be implemented soon.

S. Bhullar said that the main objective of the Mann government is to provide all government services to common people in a simple manner and within the stipulated time. For this purpose, after implementing the pilot project of HAMS technology, it will be extended to all tracks across the state, he added.

Earlier, the Transport Minister inspected the test track in Ropar and instructed RTO Gurvinder Singh Johal that if any employee engages in corruption or shows negligence towards public work, immediate action should be taken against them.

The Cabinet Minister also interacted with common people who had come to the RTO office and inquired in detail about the services they were receiving, asking, "How are your tasks being processed and is anyone demanding any kind of bribe?" In response, the people expressed satisfaction, saying that the office staff behave appropriately and work is done with transparency.

The Minister instructed all officers to ensure they perform their duties honestly and with good intentions so that no person visiting the RTO office faces any difficulties.
