A Case FIR No 173 U/S 316 (2), 318(4),338, 336(3),340(2),61(2) BNS & 24 Immigration Act has been registered in Police Station Sector 17 Chandigarh on the complaint of Sukhwinder Singh R/o Village Kotla Bathungarh Teh. Baba Bakala District Amritsar Punjab and others against Maninder Singh, Balbir Singh and others R/o R.S. Immigration Consultancy SCO No 129-130, 2nd Floor Sector 17 Chandigarh they cheated with complainants’ Rs. 16,72,000 regarding visa. Investigation of this case is in progress.

A Case FIR No.203 U/s 420 IPC and 24 Immigration Act has been registered in Police Station Sector 31 Chandigarh on the complaint of Saurabh Sehgal R/o # 131 Phase 01 Ramdarbar Chandigarh against Krishan Kumar R/o Village Jorashi Kalan, Kurukshetra Haryana, who cheated Rs.6,19,500/- of complainant’s money regarding Visa. Investigation of said case is in progress.

A Case FIR No.204 U/s 319(2) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector 31 Chandigarh on the complaint of Lady R/o Ramdarbar Chandigarh against unknown person, who cheated with complainant by changing her HDFC Bank ATM Card on dated 09.08.2024. Investigation of said case is in progress.

A Case FIR No.163 U/s 409,420,467,468,471,120B IPC has been registered in Police Station Sector 34 Chandigarh on the complaint of Lady R/o Sector 48 Chandigarh and other against Sandeep Kumar, Vijay and others R/o SCO No.146-47 Cabin No.102 Ground floor Sector 34 Chandigarh, who cheated with Complainant Rs.8 Lakh regarding Air ticket bookings, hotel booking, tour travel Packages. Investigation of said case is in progress.

Quarrel

A Case FIR No.174 U/s 115(2),351,3(5) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector 17 Chandigarh on the complaint of Lady R/o Sector 20 Chandigarh against unknown persons, who attacked with rods on complainant’s brothers Sahil and his friend Vishal Rana at parking near boundary wall of GMSH Sector 16 Chandigarh on dated 22.09.2024. In this incident they got injured and admitted at GMSH Sector 16 Chandigarh. Investigation of said case is in progress.

NDPS Act

A Case FIR No.80 U/s 52-A(1) The Prisons Act and 20,22 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Sector 49 Chandigarh on the complaint of Mr. Paras Ram Assistant Superintendent Model Jail Burail Chandigarh against prisoner Danish age 23 Yrs. lodged in Model Jail Burail Chandigarh, during his search found 9.30 Grams white colour powder, 10.30 Grams Ganja from his barrack at Model Jail Chandigarh on dated 10.10.2024. Investigation of said case is in progress.

In view of the anticipated heavy traffic movement during the Dushera Festival at Parade Ground Sector 17, Chandigarh the general public is hereby requested to park their vehicles in the following authorized parking lots:-

a. Parking area of Sector 22-A Market

b. Parking area of Sector 22-B Market

c. Parking of Football Ground, Sector 17

d. Rear side and front side of Neelam Cinema Sector 17

e. Parking area adjoining Local Bus Stand, Sector 17

Further, in order to de-congest this area at the time of dispersal of this function, traffic shall be diverted away from ISBT Sector 17 Chowk on Udyog Path by diverting traffic coming from 17/18 Light Point, Aroma Light Point, Sector 18/19/20/21 chowk and Cricket Stadium Chowk for one hour i.e. from 5.30 PM to 6.30 PM. Further, at the time of dispersal of this function, only buses will be allowed to ply on this stretch. General public is requested to use alternate route during this restriction.

Further, the general public is appealed to adopt the following measures on the eve of Dushera:-

Please try to walk to nearby markets, nearby destinations, etc. rather than using a motor vehicle.

Car pooling may be considered.

Please ensure vehicles are efficiently parked in the designated parking lots not consuming more space than necessary.

People are advised not to park their vehicles in ‘No Parking’ Zones/Roads; otherwise, such vehicles shall be towed away/clamped.

People are advised not to park/ply their vehicles on cycle track/pedestrian pathway.

Please remain patient in case of congestion and do not honk unnecessarily.

Further, in order to de-congest this area at the time of dispersal of this function, the road from Sector 34/35 Light Point towards Furniture Market turn, Sector 34 shall be closed for general public from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

In view of the anticipated heavy traffic movement during this festive season, citizens are requested to adopt the following measures from 12.10.2024 upto 01.11.2024:-

  1. Please try to walk to nearby markets, nearby destinations, etc. rather than using a motor vehicle.
  2. Please plan your day in such a manner that, whenever possible, travelling is done during non-peak hours, so that traffic presence on the roads and parkings is staggered out.
  3. Car pooling may be considered.
    1. Please ensure vehicles are efficiently parked in the designated parking lots not consuming more space than necessary.
    2. People are advised not to park their vehicles on roads; otherwise, such vehicles shall be towed away/clamped.
    3. People are advised not to park/ply their vehicles on cycle track/pedestrian pathway.
      1. People are advised not to leave any valuable belongings in their vehicles while visiting the market areas and park their vehicles in the designated parking areas and the parking facility provided in the schools/colleges near markets. Chandigarh Traffic Police is not responsible for loss of any valuable/any belongings left in the vehicle.
      2. In case vehicle is towed away/clamped, please contact Traffic Helpline No. 1073 and Emergency No. 112.
      3. Please remain patient in case of congestion and do not honk unnecessarily.
