MC Commissioner Amit Kumar inaugurates ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme at Sector 22-D Market

Chandigarh, August 10:- Municipal Corporation Chandigarh Commissioner Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, today inaugurated the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme at Sector 22-D Market, organised jointly by the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh and the Market Welfare Association, Sector 22.

On the occasion, the Commissioner also inaugurated the ‘Prarambh’ stall, set up by the Municipal Corporation to provide a platform to local women Self Help Groups to showcase their creativity and entrepreneurial skills. The stall displayed a range of colourful handmade products, including Tricolour rakhis, hand flags and other items inspired by the national flag.

The Commissioner also participated in a Tiranga Rally organised by the Market Welfare Association, led by its President Sh. Parveen Kumar and other office-bearers. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from market representatives and citizens, spreading the message of patriotism and national unity.

A Tiranga Selfie Point was also set up at the venue, where the Commissioner and participants captured memorable moments, further adding vibrancy to the celebrations.

Regional investor seminar organised at MCC office to promote financial awareness among employees

Chandigarh, August 10:- A Regional Investor Seminar was organised at the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh office today to create awareness among employees about financial planning, investment avenues and informed investment decisions.

The seminar was held in the presence of Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, Joint Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Gupta, representatives from SEBI/CDSL and employees of the Municipal Corporation.

During the seminar, experts interacted with the employees and provided detailed information on various aspects of personal finance and investment, including investment planning, inflation, stock markets, loans, Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs), Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) and mutual funds. The participants were also sensitised about the importance of understanding financial products and assessing risks before making investment decisions.

Addressing the gathering, the Commissioner emphasised the importance of having a well-planned financial strategy. He stated that mutual funds can be a good investment avenue when selected carefully according to an individual's financial goals, risk appetite and investment horizon. He also encouraged employees to enhance their financial knowledge and make use of reliable information and educational resources available online before taking investment decisions.

The seminar also provided an interactive platform for employees, who actively participated and raised questions related to their financial concerns. The experts addressed their queries and provided relevant guidance on different investment and financial planning matters.
