Kewal Singh Dhillon said the Union Home Minister’s resolve to make Punjab drug-free before December 31, 2029, after the formation of a BJP-led double-engine government in the state following the forthcoming Assembly elections, has given the people of Punjab a renewed sense of hope and confidence. 👉 Kewal Dhillon Welcomes Hike in MSP of Rabi Crops
👉 MSP to Be Ensured for 23 Crops Once BJP Government Is Formed in Punjab
Chandigarh, October 1:Punjab BJP State President Kewal Singh Dhillon welcomed the increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of all six notified Rabi crops for the 2027-28 season announced by the Narendra Modi-led Central Government. He described the decision as another significant step towards ensuring a fair and remunerative price for farmers’ produce.
In a statement issued from the party office in Chandigarh, he said, “The decision of the Narendra Modi government is not merely about increasing MSP; it will also encourage crop diversification. By providing a higher increase in the MSP of crops such as lentils and sesame, the government has sent a clear message to encourage farmers to diversify their cropping patterns and promote the cultivation of these crops.”
Questioning Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Kewal Singh Dhillon asked why MSP is not being ensured for 23 crops in Punjab, when the BJP-ruled state of Haryana is providing MSP support for 23 crops under the Bhavantar scheme. The scheme also covers vegetables. In contrast, the Punjab Government had once announced MSP for moong, but the decision was never implemented effectively on the ground.
He said that once a BJP government is formed in Punjab, MSP will be ensured for 23 crops, providing farmers with greater price security and encouraging crop diversification across the state. Kewal Dhillon said the Modi government’s decision has also given a befitting reply to those who have been misleading farmers by claiming that the Central Government would abolish MSP. He said the government has consistently increased MSP every year, reaffirming its commitment to the interests of farmers.

👉🏻 Modi’s Gift to 484 Dalit-Majority Villages in Punjab: Vijay Sampla
👉🏻 Centre to Provide Grants of Up to ₹20 Lakh Each to Villages Selected Under PM Adarsh Yojana
Chandigarh, October 1: Punjab BJP senior leader and former Union Minister Vijay Sampla thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for covering 484 Dalit-majority villages in Punjab under the PM Adarsh Yojana. More than 40 per cent of the population in these villages belongs to the Dalit community, and the Central Government will provide grants of up to ₹20 lakh each for development works in these villages.
In a statement issued from the party office in Chandigarh, Vijay Sampla said the benefits of the scheme are not limited to the construction of roads and buildings. The scheme will also support development in areas such as drinking water, sanitation, education, health and nutrition, social security, housing, electricity, clean fuel, agriculture, financial inclusion, digital facilities, employment and skill development.
Sampla said that integrating the Dalit community into the mainstream of development requires more than mere announcements; it requires access to quality education, basic amenities, employment and economic opportunities. He said Punjab has the highest proportion of Dalits among the states in the country, with more than 32 per cent of its population belonging to the Dalit community. He alleged that the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party have so far treated Dalits merely as a vote bank and have failed to pay adequate attention to the development of villages.
He said that after 70 years of Independence, for the first time, a Prime Minister is working towards transforming Dalit-majority villages into model villages. He said that once the BJP forms a double-engine government in Punjab in 2027, such development works will be accelerated on a war footing.

👉🏻 Impartial Probe into PM Awas Yojana Scam in Punjab Demanded: Ashwani Sharma
👉🏻 Employees Accused of Taking Bribes Must Not Be Spared: Sharma
Chandigarh, October 1, 2026: Former Punjab BJP state president Ashwani Sharma has demanded that the state government order an impartial investigation into allegations of bribery in the allocation of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Mamdot, Ferozepur district.
He said the allegations of houses being allotted in exchange for bribes are extremely unfortunate and shameful. He described the alleged irregularities as a serious injustice to the poor. Out of a list of 400 needy families, only 33 houses were approved, of which just two were reportedly allotted to needy beneficiaries, while the remaining 31 were allegedly allotted to influential individuals owning between 50 and 200 acres of land. He said the matter requires serious attention and alleged that such practices undermine Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of welfare for the poor.
Sharma said the Punjab government should order an impartial and high-level investigation into the entire matter. He also demanded that employees facing allegations of accepting bribes should not be spared if the charges are established. The eligibility of all beneficiaries who were allotted houses should also be thoroughly scrutinised. In addition, he demanded fresh verification of the 367 poor families whose applications for houses were rejected.
Sharma said corruption in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana would not be tolerated. He said the BJP stands firmly with the poor and will continue to fight for justice for those who have been denied their rightful benefits.

👉🏻 ₹1,200 Crore in Traders’ GST Refunds Withheld for Six Months: Anil Sareen
👉🏻 Government Accused of Sending GST Notices to Traders for Illegal Recovery
Chandigarh, October 1, 2026:Traders in Punjab are facing what has been described as “tax terrorism,” with the state government allegedly withholding ₹1,200 crore in GST refunds owed to traders for the past six months. This allegation was levelled by BJP Punjab General Secretary Anil Sareen while addressing the media at the party’s state office in Chandigarh. BJP State Media Coordinator Vineet Joshi was also present on the occasion.
Targeting the state government over the non-release of GST refunds to traders, Anil Sareen alleged that the Bhagwant Mann government has withheld nearly ₹1,200 crore in GST refunds for the past six months without citing any reason. He said this has caused severe difficulties for traders across the state and has adversely affected their businesses.
Allegations of ₹2,500 Crore in Recovery
Sareen said the government was harassing traders by issuing them notices. He claimed that GST notices had been issued in around 50,000 cases. He alleged that, in the name of settling these cases, the government was seeking to recover ₹5 lakh per case. Based on this calculation, the total amount would be around ₹2,500 crore.
The BJP leader alleged that the government was exploiting traders. He said the government’s policies were forcing industries to move out of the state, with traders shifting to other states because they were apprehensive about doing business in Punjab.
He also questioned the Punjab government’s claims regarding GST collections. He said the government claims that GST revenue has increased by 15 to 18 per cent. However, he alleged that the government was presenting misleading figures by withholding traders’ refunds. He claimed that by holding back refund amounts, the government was showing higher GST collections.
Warning of Gherao of the Government
The BJP demanded that the government immediately release the pending GST refunds to traders in Punjab. The party warned that if this was not done, it would join the traders in gheraoing the government. The BJP said that, on the one hand, the government has raised the state’s debt to approximately ₹4.5 lakh crore, while on the other, it is allegedly attempting to raise revenue by harassing traders. The party described the government as completely anti-industry and anti-business.
