CHANDIGARH,18.03.23-The 52nd segment of the much awaited All India Bhaskar Rao Nritya and Sangeet Sammelan opened to a serene and soulful start with a heartrending vocal presentation at the Tagore Theatre here today. The three day festival of classical music and dance aimed at propagating the classical performing arts of India is the much awaited event in the region like the Hari Vallabh Sangeet Sammelan.
Sh. Nitin Kumar Yadav , Home Secretary , UT Chandigarh was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the Sammelan after lightening of traditional lamp. Kendra’s Chairman Sh. SK Monga IAS (Retd), Registrar Dr. Shobha Koser ,Secretary Sh. Sajal Koser were also present on this occasion..
As per the old tradition of Kendra , some eminent personalities were also honored on this occasion are Senior Sitar Guru Sh. Surinder Kumar Dutta and talented journalist Ms. Shayda for their remarkable contribution in Indian Classical arts in their respective fields. They all were honored with a shawl, memento, a citation and cash prize.
The honoring ceremony was followed by a remarkable musical delight by eminent vocalist Sh. Prasad Khaparde . He presented melodic and soulful gayiki in his resonating voice. He begin his presentation with Raag Sham Kalyan with vilambit ek taal bandish “Jio mere lal” followed by fast tempo composition set to ek taal with bols “ main tumko jaanat hu “ before rag Sohini based tarana set to teen taal. He concluded his recital with a melodic Thumri.
He was accompanied by superb artists like Sh. Mithilesh Jha on tabla and Pt. Dharam Nath Mishra on Harmonium.
After this soulful performance Vidushi Geeta Mahalik took the centre stage and presented remarkable Odissi dance presentations . She along with her troupe commenced with Devi stuti followed by a Meera Bhajan based presentation Hari om Sharnam in which she told about Lord Krishna that if you surrender in lotus feet of Krishna he will protect you from every suffering of life. Then she moved on to present solo bhav paksha based item in which she depicted role of Radha who is waiting for Krishna to come and love her .
After this she presented Rama Stuti which is Ramayan based item. This presentation was based on musical composition by Swati Tirunal. Her remarkable troupe members are Sushant Maharana, Rajanikant Mohanty, Sangita Mohanty, Sipika Narverkar, Daphne Tara and Meghna Ghose Dastidar. She was finely accompanied by Prasana Behera on Vocal
Prasant Maharana on Pakhawaj, Afjaal Zahoor on Violin and Nikhil Behera on Flute. The artists honored with a bouquet , scroll and memento .
