Chandigarh, 09.11.23- : Department of Environment Studies in collaboration with Dharini “Environment Awareness Society” of the Post Graduate Government College, Sector-46, Chandigarh, organized a Green Diwali Campaign in the college campus.

The Green Diwali campaign aimed to sensitize the students about the importance of celebrating Diwali in an eco-friendly manner and shunning the use of firecrackers. The campaign included a slogan writing competition, Diya Decoration competition followed by an anti-cracker pledge and rally.

Principal of the college Dr. Abha Sudarshan administered the Anti Cracker pledge to the students and flagged of the rally. Dr. Sudarshan also addressed the students and motivated them to inculcate eco-friendly practices while enjoying the festivities. Students of different streams participated in the Slogan Writing and Diya Decoration event enthusiastically. Dr Ritu Sarsoha (HOD) and Dr. Amanpreet Kaur from the Department of Environment Studies organised the event successfully. Dr. Baljit Singh, Vice Principal, was also present on the occasion.
