Applications for free coaching of UPSC and HCS starts at CUH

The process of online application has started under Dr. Ambedkar Center of Excellence (DACE), established in Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh to prepare students of Scheduled Caste and Other Backward Classes for the competitive examinations of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and HCS. Interested students can apply through online mode till 10th November. Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor of the University wished the students who are willing to apply under the registration process started for the new session, for their bright future.
Prof. Antaresh Kumar, DACE Coordinator said that this center provided by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has provided success to about 50 candidates for IAS, IPS, HCS and other government jobs through coaching in the last two years. He said that only SC/OBC students can apply for this coaching, whose family income is less than Rs. 8 lakh per annum. Also, paid admission opportunity is available to 25 candidates from any category. The last date for online registration is November 10, 2024. In this scheme of Government of India, candidates will be selected on the basis of entrance examination. All the selected candidates will also be given a stipend of four thousand rupees per month by Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.

Three Day training program started at CUH
The Department of Sociology, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh is organising a three-day training program on the theme ‘Social Defence: Strengthening Policy and Practice to Protect Vulnerable Populations’ from 21st to 23rd October 2024. The event is being organised by the Department of Sociology, CUH, in collaboration with the Department of Psychosocial support in Disaster Management, NIMHANS and it is sponsored by the National Institute of Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The objectives of the training program are to enhance the understanding of social defence issues and possible ways of their analysis and further implementation. The program was inaugurated by the Prof. (Dr.) Deepti Dharmani, Vice-Chancellor Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani and Prof. (Dr.) Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, CUH by lightening the lamp and Saraswati Vandana. The members of the ‘Drug Eradication Cell’ complemented the inaugural session by a short yet impactful play appealing for eradication of all types of intoxicants.
The Organising Secretary, Dr. Abhiranjan Kumar, warmly welcomed the guests and speakers. Dr. Reema Gill, Convenor of the program, in her opening remarks said, that “each of the social defence issues represent deep rooted problems that require our collective action, empathy and commitment to address effectively”. The chief guest, Dr Deepti Dharmani, appreciated the initiative of conducting this program on the National Defence Issues by the Central University of Haryana and also highlighted her own efforts of inclusion of transgenders by making the education free for the transgender community in Chaudhary Bansi Lal University. Prof (Dr) Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor, CUH, rightly advised the youth that it is important to say ‘No’ to drugs. Dr Yudhvir, Co-Convener of the program, emphasised how drug addicts do not live the precious years of their lives.
Two technical sessions were held on day one. The first technical session was presided by Dr. Sameeksha Godara, Asst. Prof., Department of Law, CUH, on the theme ‘Begging in India: Legislative and Judicial Response’. The second technical session by Prof. (Dr.) Payal Chandel, HoD, Department of Psychology, C.U.H. dealt with the aspects of ‘Positive Ageing’. Prof. (Dr) Chanchal Sharma, Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, along with the scholars Rupak Verma, Okesh, Makhriene Veimy, Kiran Jangra, Shubham Sikarwar, Poras Yadav, Sarvind Chaudhary, Chander Mohan, Anisha Yadav remained present in the program. A total of approximately 100 people attended the programme including 41 participants.
