Chandigarh, January 12 - Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini today dedicated the 163rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda to the youth of the state and announced several initiatives for their upliftment. After inaugurating 250 gyms simultaneously for rural youth, he announced free equipment for eight notified sports and inclusion of Inter Youth Club Games in the annual sports calendar of the state. He also announced opening at least one ITI in every block of the state.

The Chief Minister also announced to make a special policy to make the youth proficient in the languages of different countries and to bear the expenses of getting these certified from the concerned agency.

Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini was addressing the youth at a state-level 'Yuva Diwas' function organised in Panchkula on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti today.

Earlier, he released a song to inspire the youth to stay aware against drug abuse, which was sung by famous singer Naveen Punia. He also gave job offer letters to ITI trainees. He also felicitated youths and volunteers of the NSS on the occasion.

The Chief Minister, while paying obeisance to Swami Vivekananda, called upon the youth to eliminate the social evil of drugs from the state. He said Vivekananda ji had sounded the clarion call for renaissance in India. He created a flame of self-respect, pride and spiritual awakening among the countrymen.

He said Swami Vivekananda also loved wrestling. He was fond of reading and he used to read with such attention and concentration that once he read a book, he never forgot it.

The Chief Minister mentioned in detail about Swami Vivekananda's childhood till his arrival at Ramakrishna Paramhans Ashram and his impressive speech given in the Parliament of the World’s Religions, and said that the responsibility of the future of our Constitution and institutions is on the shoulders of youth. In future, you have to run the country in accordance with the basic spirit of the Constitution.

Taken various steps to fulfil dreams of our youth: CM

Giving information about the work done by the state government in the interest of the youth, he said this is the third term of the government. In the 10 years of last two terms, we have made every effort to give all kinds of facilities to youths. We are implementing the National Education Policy to give you modern education of the 21st century. PM Vishwakarma Yojana has been implemented to help the youth hone their skills. The country's first Shri Vishwakarma Skill Development University has also been opened in the state, the Chief Minister added.

He said earlier, jobs like HCS were given to the relatives of the ruling party leaders, whereas our government has employed the youth on the basis of merit. Talented youth from many poor families have got HCS jobs. He said in the last 10 years, we have given government jobs to more than 1.71 lakh youths without ‘parchi-kharchi’ and in the third term, the target is to give permanent government jobs to 2 lakh youth on merit.

Focus on creating skilled youth

He said through the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam, not only employment has been given to the youth, their job security has also been ensured. Under the 'Nal Jal Mitra' programme, 6,000 youths have been trained by Hero MotoCorp Limited. They are helping in water supply in rural areas. Our government has started schemes like 'Drone Didi Yojana', 'Contractor Saksham Yuva Yojana', and 'IT Saksham Yuva Yojana', which has provided employment opportunities to around 25,000 youths.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini expressed concern over sending youths abroad through Donkey route and appealed to parents to save their children from this wrong practice. He said a Foreign Cooperation Department has been created to help the youths looking for employment abroad.

’Global Haryanvi’ portal created for NRI residents

The Chief Minister said a portal 'Global Haryanvi’ has been created for those Haryanvis who are settled in other countries but their families are here. They can get help by sharing their problems related to land, property, any kind of dispute in the family or opportunities to invest in the state on the portal.

The Chief Minister informed that to provide better employment opportunities to the youth in the private sector, the government has started the work of providing practical training by partnering with about 258 industries under the 'Dual System of Training'.

The Chief Minister said the aim of the state government is that by the year 2030, every youth of the state should be skilled and financially prosperous. To achieve this goal, effective steps have been taken like NSQF in schools, 'Pahal Yojana' in colleges, incubation centres in universities and MoUs with industries for training as per their need in technical institutes.

He also asked the youth to participate in politics. He said Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi has called upon the youth of the country that they should come forward in active politics because the coming time belongs to the youth.

Making several announcements for the youth on this occasion, the Chief Minister said the state government provides free sports equipment under the 'Haryana Khel Upkaran Pravdhan Yojana, 2024-25', and now youth clubs will also be included in this scheme. In future, 'Inter Youth Club Games' will be included in the annual sports calendar of the state. The Sports Department will organize these games every year.

Free equipment to be given for 8 notified sports

The Chief Minister said free equipment will be given for 8 notified sports. These sports include volleyball, football, basketball, handball, boxing, wrestling, judo and cricket. Every year, the Sports Department will organize two adventure sport camps for youth clubs.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini also announced that at least one ITI will be opened in every block of Haryana. Out of 142 blocks in the state, there are 26 blocks where there is no ITI. Out of these, the proposal to open new government ITIs in 6 blocks has already been approved and the construction of buildings is in process. ITIs will also be opened in the remaining 20 blocks which will cost Rs 400 crore.

The Chief Minister also said the government will bear the expenses of making the youth learn foreign languages and getting these certified from the concerned agency. He said the government is starting the Hartron Advanced Skill Centre project. Under this, 87 Advanced Skill Centres will be opened in the first year. These centres will provide NSQF recognized certificates. This will enable the youth to get trained in nationally and internationally recognized skills.

He said earlier Hartron's skill centres were mainly opened at the district level but now, these will also be opened at sub-divisions and rural development blocks. These will provide advanced training in emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and Block Chain. This will increase employment opportunities for the youth.

Youth should put their energy to do innovation: Gaurav Gautam

Minister of State for Sports, Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Sh. Gaurav Gautam, in his address as a special guest in the programme, paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda and said today is the day to instill courage and energy in the youth. He repeated the words spoken by Vivekananda ji in which he had said, “Give me 100 youths, I can change the fate of India”. He said if Vivekananda ji was alive today, he would have inspired the youth to use their energy in innovation instead of making the internet a mere means of entertainment in this age of digitisation.

Giving Haryana the status of a sports powerhouse and a minefield of medals, Sh. Gautam said under the guidance of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, Haryana is moving ahead on the path of progress in every field.

Lawyers can bring positive change in society by contributing to the judicial system of the country and the field of advocacy is not limited to the knowledge of law, rather lawyers play their role in providing justice to the weaker and deprived sections of society.

Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said this during the oath-taking ceremony of new lawyers organized by the Punjab and Haryana Bar Council at Law Bhawan in Chandigarh today. During this, the Chief Minister administered oath to 1145 new lawyers and gave them licences.

India got freedom from three laws of slavery after 7 decades

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said it is the result of the nationalist vision of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi that independent India has got freedom from three laws of slavery after 7 decades. He requested all the new lawyers to contribute in making the general public aware about the new laws. Apart from making three new criminal laws, Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi has abolished about 1600 laws. 175 unnecessary laws have also been identified in Haryana. Out of these, 28 have been repealed.

Continuous work done on training, infrastructure & awareness to implement new laws

The Chief Minister said continuous work has been done for training, infrastructure, technology development, public awareness, etc. to implement the three new laws and necessary notifications have been issued to effectively implement them. About 300 awareness programmes have been organised to make the general public aware of the three new laws. He said more than 43,000 officers and employees have been trained about the new laws. These include about 10,000 research officers. Experts from all 97 laboratories of the state have been trained. All 555 judicial officers of the state have been trained on the three new criminal laws, all 2,167 jail officers and employees and all 741 public prosecutors have also received training in this regard.

Government contributing in every possible way for lawyers and judiciary

He said the Haryana Government is contributing in every possible way for lawyers and judiciary. The government is ensuring modern facilities, technical resources and training programmes for lawyers so that everyone can do their work more effectively. It is important to have coordination, transparency and ethics between lawyers and the judiciary. The rule of law is the foundation of any democratic country.

Use of technology is opening new opportunities for lawyers

The Chief Minister said in the digital age, changes are taking place in the field of law. The use of new technologies is opening new doors of opportunities for lawyers. All lawyers should adopt new technologies and contribute in making the justice process fast and transparent. He said everyone should always keep their ethical values paramount. Advocacy will not only be a proof of your abilities but will also be a reflection of your ethical values. Therefore, always stand in favour of truth and justice and use your profession not only for personal success but for the development of society and nation.

Bar Council gave lawyers who adorned top positions in country

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said the Bar Council has set new milestones in the last 63 years. This Bar Council is one of the oldest Bar Councils of the country. This council has provided such lawyers to the country who have later adorned high positions not only in the states of Punjab and Haryana but also in the High Courts across the country and the Supreme Court of India. The council has provided many judges of the Supreme Court, Law and Railway Ministers of the country, Advocate Generals of Punjab and Haryana, Additional Solicitor Generals, etc. At present, 150 different Bar associations of Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh come under this Bar Council. More than 1.52 lakh members are registered with the council.

Advocate General of Haryana Sh. Pravindra Singh Chauhan, President of Haryana and Punjab Bar Council Dr. Vijender Singh Ahlawat, Vice-President Chetan Sharma along with other officials of the Bar and new lawyers were present on the occasion.

Chandigarh, January 12– Haryana's kabaddi teams once again brought laurels to the state at the 50th Junior National Kabaddi Championship held at Roshnabad Stadium, Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The men’s team won the gold medal, while the women’s team secured the silver. Haryana Development and Panchayats Minister and President, Haryana Amateur Kabaddi Association, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar, congratulated the players on their achievements.

Sh. Panwar said that the men's kabaddi team performed exceptionally well, defeating Uttarakhand in the final with a huge score of 51-21 to claim the gold medal. The women’s team earned the silver medal, with a close margin of 45-44 in their final match.

He praised the players’ hard work and dedication, stating that this historic victory has elevated Haryana’s status in kabaddi. Haryana’s sex ratio improved due to ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign: Shruti Choudhry

Chandigarh, January 12 – Haryana’s Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Shruti Choudhry said after the launch of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign, there has been a significant increase in the sex ratio in Haryana. Now, the sex ratio in the state has reached 910 whereas in the year 2014, it was 871.

She was speaking at the closing ceremony of a three-day Chintan Shivir organized by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD), Government of India, in Udaipur, Rajasthan today.

The minister highlighted impressive programmes like ‘Mhari Laado’ radio abhiyaan, institutional delivery rate close to 95% and strong first trimester ANC registration at 85%. She emphasized Haryana's holistic approach towards maternal and child health. She further said Haryana's new nutrition initiative ‘Mukhyamantri Doodh Uphaar Yojana’ has further reduced stunting and malnutrition rates.

She said Haryana has made great progress in women and child development. Recently, Haryana was selected as one of the leading states in presenting its best practices. She informed that the state's pioneering creche model has established a network of anganwadi-cum-creches and standalone creches that empower working mothers.

The Women and Child Development Minister said these steps of the state government represent Haryana's visionary approach towards early childhood development and gender empowerment.

She stressed the need to re-imagine policies and revitalize strategies to ensure inclusive growth for every citizen.

Agriculture Minister transfers Rs 184 crore into farmers’ accounts through DBT

Amount includes subsidy of Rs 122 crore for crop residue management and bonus of Rs 62 crore

Chandigarh, January 12 - Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Sh. Shyam Singh Rana today took a big step in the interest of farmers and transferred an amount of Rs 184 crore directly into their bank accounts. This includes a subsidy of Rs 122 crore on 10,393 machines for crop residue management equipment and a bonus of Rs 62 crore.

On this occasion, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana said the state government is fully committed to the welfare of farmers. This Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) will not only provide economic strength to the farmers but will also raise their standard of living. He informed that a decision was taken to give a bonus of Rs 2000 per acre for agricultural and horticultural crops affected due to adverse weather during Kharif season-2024. In this regard, an amount of Rs 62 crore was transferred directly into the accounts of farmers. Under this scheme, so far a bonus amount of Rs 860 crore has been transferred into the accounts of 8.18 lakh farmers through DBT.

Regarding the subsidy on crop residue management equipment, the Agriculture Minister said an amount of Rs 122 crore has been released for 10,393 machines. He said this step of the state government would prove to be important for solving environmental problems and promoting advanced agricultural practices.

This revolution has been started from Kurukshetra University and three other districts of Haryana on Swami Vivekananda Jayanti today.

The Education Minister was speaking today in the auditorium of Kurukshetra University in a seminar organized by the Haryana Education Department on the topic ‘Indian education, culture, values and your suggestions’ under the National Education Policy-2020.

While congratulating and wishing the people of the state on Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, the Education Minister said Haryana will be the first state in the country to implement the National Education Policy. The target has been set to implement the National Education Policy-2020 in the state in 2025. To achieve this target, first of all, suggestions have been invited from every section of the society so as to remove any flaws in the National Education Policy. Teachers will have an important contribution in implementing this education policy, so an initiative has been taken to take suggestions from teachers.

Sh. Mahipal Dhanda said when the future generation gets an opportunity to know and imbibe the culture and values of the country, the country will definitely become a ‘Vishwaguru’ by 2047 and emerge as the biggest power in this world.

Congratulating the Vice Chancellor of Kurukshetra University, Prof. Somnath Sachdeva and his team for implementing the National Education Policy-2020, he said other universities and colleges are following the National Education Policy implemented in this Kurukshetra University. Now, suggestions have been sought to remove the shortcomings of this National Education Policy. These suggestions will be implemented and by making changes, the National Education Policy will be implemented in a holistic manner in the entire state in 2025.

Later, while talking to journalists, the Education Minister said from April 1, there will be no shortage of teachers in any school in Haryana. Orders have been given to officials to rationalize teachers in every school of the state. Not only this, the infrastructure will be strengthened in all the schools of the state and efforts will also be made to remove all the shortcomings of the schools before the month of April.

Earlier, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda, OSD to Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Bharat Bhushan Bharti, Principal Secretary, Haryana School Education, Sh. Pankaj Aggarwal, Vice Chairman of Haryana Higher Education Council Prof. Surendra Gakkhar and Vice Chancellor of Kurukshetra University Prof. Somnath Sachdeva paid floral tributes to the statue of Swami Vivekananda in the campus of the university and officially inaugurated the seminar by lighting the lamp in the Srimad Bhagavad Gita House.

Sports Minister congratulates medal-winning basketball teams of Haryana

Government committed to providing advanced sports facilities to players: Gaurav Gautam

Chandigarh, January 12-Haryana Sports Minister Sh. Gaurav Gautam congratulated the state’s men’s and women’s basketball teams for their achievements in the All India Basketball Civil Services Competition. The winning players met the Sports Minister at his residence in Chandigarh today.

On this occasion, Sh. Gautam stated that Haryana's sports policy is benefiting athletes and praised the players for winning medals at the state, national and international levels, bringing pride to the country. He also said that other states in India are now following Haryana's sports policy. The Haryana Government is committed to providing advanced sports facilities to its players.

The All India Basketball Civil Services Competition was held in Delhi from January 3 to 8. Haryana’s men’s team won the bronze medal, while the women’s team secured the silver medal.

Basketball coaches Amarjit Kaur and Harsh, fencing coach Komal, handball coach Manoj Kundu and many other players were also present on the occasion.
