MAHENDERGARH, 22.01.25-Jiten Singh, a PhD scholar from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh has recently achieved a significant milestone by winning the Best Poster Award at the prestigious International Conference 'Pharmaceutical Innovations Translating to Reality 2025.' This two-day event was organized by the Technology Enabling Centre at BITS Pilani, Rajasthan in collaboration with the Translational Biomedical Research Society (TBRS). The conference attracted numerous participants from various institutions across India, showcasing both poster and oral presentations on cutting-edge research in pharmaceutical sciences. Prof. (Dr.) Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of the University congratulated him for bringing laurel to the University.
Out of many outstanding contributions, Jiten Singh’s research was singled out for its scientific rigor, relevance to the conference theme, and practical implications. His poster presentation highlighted a well-designed study that explored the therapeutic potential of melatonin in addressing acrylamide-induced reproductive toxicity in small animals, specifically Wistar rats. The study investigated changes in sexual behaviour and various hormonal alterations induced by acrylamide exposure. The jury recognized the depth of the research, the clarity of its approach, and the significance of the findings in the broader context of pharmaceutical innovations and their application in improving human health.
Jiten has performed this study under the supervision of Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Dr. Ashok Jangra (Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, CUH) and Prof. Dinesh Dhingra, Director, Small Animal Experimental Facility, GJUST, Hisar. Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Head, Dept. of Pharm. Sciences informed that the research was not only a demonstration of the scholar's dedication but also an application of thorough scientific methods aimed at solving pressing health concerns.
Dr. Ashok informed that Jiten’s research is particularly noteworthy as it addresses an emerging concern regarding acrylamide, a compound often found in processed foods and its potential impact on reproductive health. Jiten Singh received Direct SRF from Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in 2024, on the basis of his research. Additionally, Jiten has further demonstrated his academic excellence by publishing review article in highly respected reputed Elsevier’journal, Chemosphere with impact factor of 8.1.
The recognition from the conference jury is a testament to Jiten’s hard work and commitment to advancing scientific knowledge. Dr. Dinesh Kumar, the Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, also expressed pride in the accomplishment, praising both Jiten’s initiative and the guidance provided by the supervisory team. Jiten Singh’s achievement is a reflection of the vibrant research environment at the Central University of Haryana, which continues to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in pharmaceutical sciences.
