CHANDIGARH, 29.04.25-The Department of Fine Arts at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, organised a two-day skill-based entrepreneurship development workshop on ‘Relief Landscape and Fridge Magnet’. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Rakesh Sen and Ms. Priya, who brought their expertise and passion for art to the participants.
On the first day, the participants received live demonstrations on the technique of relief landscaping using mould-it clay, followed by a hands-on session where they created their own vibrant landscapes on canvas. The second day of the workshop focused on the art of creating fridge magnets. Participants learned to craft intricate shapes and textures such as flowers, birds, cookies, donuts, and butterflies, using mould-it clay. They experimented with both bright and pastel colors to enhance their creations, while some students showcased their creativity by painting directly on the base in a folk art style. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 47 students eager to hone their creative and entrepreneurial skills.
Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma lauded this initiative of the Fine Arts Department to equip the students with valuable artistic skills while encouraging them to explore avenues for entrepreneurship through their craft. She added that the event reaffirms the college’s commitment to fostering creativity, innovation, and self-reliance among the students.
