*Internationally renowned scientist Dr. Barry T. Rouse from the University of Tennessee, USA, delivered a captivating talk on ‘How our immune system battles pathogens’ at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana.

*The College of Fisheries (COF), Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, organized a three-day tailor-made capacity building program for a group of 25 farmers, including 07 women entrepreneurs, from Haridwar under Uttarakhand state sponsored program.

*The camp was inaugurated by Dr. JPS Gill, Vice Chancellor, who expressed his gratitude to the donors and highlighted the significance of the blood donation drive, emphasizing that it embodied the true spirit of service to humanity, transcending barriers of religion, caste, and creed.

*Dr. JPS Gill, Vice-Chancellor of veterinary university commended the efforts of Centre for One Health and College of Veterinary Science for educating livestock farmers and building their capacity to address critical emerging issues like antimicrobial resistance and zoonoses.

*Dr. Jatinder Paul Singh Gill in his maiden address after his appointment as the new Vice-Chancellor of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, inspired the teachers to work for the betterment of the institution with full dedication.

*Dr. Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, Vice Chancellor, commended the team's achievements and emphasized the importance of the university's scientific fraternity dedicating itself to innovative applied research to uplift farmers and budding entrepreneurs.

*The fortnight cleanliness programmes were initiated in the presence of Dr. Parkash Singh Brar, Director of Students’ Welfare, along with the NSS Programme Coordinator and Programme officers of various colleges.

*Dr. J.P.S. Gill, Vice Chancellor underscored the significance of the pig industry and the diseases affecting it. He congratulated Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, the Principal Investigator, along with Co-Principal Investigators Dr. Mudit Chandra, Dr. Deepti Narang, and Dr. Mousumi Bora.

*In an impressive farewell function Dr. J.P.S. Gill Vice chancellor while applauding the contributions of Dr Ramneek to the university highlighted Dr. Ramneek’s unwavering commitment to excellence in education and research.

*The event was graced by Dr. Parkash Singh Brar, Director Students’ Welfare-cum-EO and S. Jaskaran Singh, Assistant Estate Officer. Dr. Brar emphasised on watering the saplings and safeguarding them for its conservation.

*An exposure visit of dairy officials from Bolangir-Kalahandi-Nuapada Regional Co-Operative Milk Producer's Union Ltd based at Bolangir, Odisha was arranged at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana under the guidance of Dr. Parkash Singh Brar, Director of Extension Education.

*During the deliberations Dr. JPS Gill, Vice Chancellor underscored the university's unwavering dedication to environmental stewardship and the transformative potential of a partnership with Nestlé.

*The drive was inaugurated by Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Chairman, Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board, New Delhi, Dr. U.S. Gautam, DDG (Agril. Extension), New Delhi and Dr. Parvender Sheoran, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone – 1, Ludhiana highlighted the need for collective action in safeguarding the environment.

*The ceremony was further enriched by the remarks of Special Guest, Dr. JPS Gill, Vice Chancellor, Vet Varsity. He highlighted the importance of KVKs and impressed upon attracting the youth towards farming

*Dr. Kamal Kumar Garg, IAS, Additional Secretary, Food & Civil Supplies, Consumer affairs was chief guest of the concluding and award giving function. *Dr. Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor, presided over the function and urged farmers to develop their entrepreneurs by value addition of livestock products for higher returns. He underlined activities of all the colleges and centres of university for better reach to the farming community.

*Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana conferred Chief Minister awards to three livestock farmers on the 13th of September 2024. These awards were conferred in an impressive function by S. Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, Cabinet Minister, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Food Processing in the Vet Varsity Mela Groun

*Dr. Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor said that we are promoting value addition of livestock products. Mela slogan is also based on this objective “Uttpadan ton Uttpad Banaiye, Aao Vadh Munafa Paiye”.
