MAHENDERGARH, 22.10.24-Dr. Ramesh Kumar, Professor of Political science in Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh received the rank of Lieutenant after the passing out parade held on 9 October of the Pre Commission Course running from 29 July to 9 October at NCC Officer Training Academy, Kamptee, Maharashtra. Dr. Ramesh was given a warm welcome by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar and other staff of CUH. The Vice Chancellor also said that Dr. Ramesh becoming an Associate NCC Officer is a matter of pride for the university and the district.
Dr. Ramesh had been performing the duties of NCC caretaker in the University for the past two years. However, after developing interest in the NCC workings, he aspired to join the services as an officer. He said during the two years of additional duty of NCC caretaker, he learnt many things and groomed himself to join the services. Later, after two rounds of selection procedures in the month of November 2023, he was selected for the training.
He underwent a rigorous training program of 75 days which included drill, physical training, leadership, personality and community development along with disaster management training. In the passing out parade held on 9 October, Dr. Ramesh with 491 other cadet training officers of NCC Senior Division passed out from the academy. The parade was reviewed by Air Marshal Vijay Kumar Garg, AVSM, VSM, AOC-in-C, Maintenance Command, Air Force. After coming from the training, Dr. Ramesh expressed his gratitude to everyone. On this occasion, he said that all the students and NCC cadets of the University will be motivated to become responsible and progressive citizens of the country and contribute to nation building.
