Chandigarh, February 13:- The Finance and Contract Committee of Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh in its meeting held today recommended the Budget Estimates of Rs. 467.75.00 crore under Capital Head and Rs. 1197.00 crore under the Revenue Head for the financial year 2025-26.

The meeting was held under the Chairpersonship of Mrs. Harpreet Kaur Babla, Mayor, Chandigarh and attended by Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, Commissioner and members of the committee namely Sh. Gurpreet Singh, Sh. Jasmanpreet Singh, Smt. Poonam, Sh. Saurabh Joshi, Smt. Suman Devi and officers of MCC Sh. Gurinder Singh Sodhi, Ms. Shashi Vasundhara and Sh. Sumeet Sihag, Joint Commissioners and other senior officers of MCC.

The members of committee discussed other various important agenda items in detail and accorded approval for the following

· Repair and Renovation of civil dispensary at Sector 50 Chandigarh at an estimated cost of Rs. 7.66 lacs.

· Construction of Jogging track in park and providing additional street light poles at an estimated cost of Rs. 9.45 lacs.

· The committee also accorded approval for the booking of open space near tubewell adjacent to sub-office Manimajra as proposed rent @ Rs. 3250 per day plus Rs. 2000 sanitation charges and Rs. 1.00 lac refundable security for 720 Sq.ft. area.

· The Mayor and Councillors also raised the concern over the issue of regular water connection for residents living outside Lal Dora in 24 villages at Chandigarh and asked the concerned officers to take up the issue immediately.
