CHANDIGARH, 14.02.25-The Bhargava Auditorium at PGIMER Chandigarh witnessed an extraordinary celebration of Sitar recital by virtuoso Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan, accompanied, on the tabla, by Shri Anubrata Chatterjee, who are both world renowned figures in the field of Indian classical music as it hosted a captivating performance jointly organised by the Chandigarh Chapter of SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) and the Institute Cultural Committee, PGI, under the guidance of Prof. Reena Das from the institute and Dr. Shakuntala Lavasa.
The audience was captivated by the exceptional performances which included melodious ragas like bhimpalasi, pilu and khamaj. The experience of witnessing the performances was a spiritual one and will remain etched in the memories of the audience. The auditorium reverberated with the melodious music and the standing ovation given was a testimony to the same. Adding to the prestige of the event was the esteemed presence of Prof. Sanjay Jain, Dean Research, as the Chief Guest, along with many members of the Institute Faculty, students and staff and other music lovers eager to witness the live performance on stage.
