Governor honours 76 awardees of police, home guards & civil defence at investiture ceremony
SHIMLA-14 February, 2025-Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla conferred various medals to 76 awardees of Police, Home Guards & Civil Defence for their distinguished service at the ‘Investiture Ceremony’ held at Raj Bhavan today.
Among the recipients, Commandant General, Home Guards & Civil Defence, Satwant Atwal Trivedi and Additional Director, CBI, New Delhi, N. Venugopal, were honored with the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service. Notably, this investiture ceremony was being held after five years, the last one being in 2020.
On the occasion, the Governor congratulated the awardees and acknowledged their unwavering dedication, courage, and commitment to public service. He emphasized that their contribution to law enforcement and public safety has been instrumental in safeguarding society.
The Governor lauded the efforts of several awardees in combating drug abuse, stating that their relentless commitment to this cause would inspire others to join the fight against this menace.
He highlighted the crucial role of police and home guard forces in a hilly state like Himachal Pradesh. Despite challenging geographical conditions, their commitment to maintain law and order is commendable. He also underlined their significant role of these forces during disasters, crime prevention, traffic control and ensuring peace in society.
Shri Shukla reaffirmed that both the Himachal Pradesh Government and the Central Government are committed to strengthening law enforcement. He stated that initiatives such as smart policing, digital surveillance, disaster management training, and the provision of modern security equipment are enhancing the capabilities of police and home guard services. Additionally, he emphasized the priority given to disaster management and civil defence to ensure rapid response during emergencies.
Padam Shree Vidyanand Sarek and Nek Ram were also present on the occasion.
Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Onkar Chand Sharma, Director General of Police Dr. Atul Verma, Mayor, Municipal Corporation Shimla Surender Chauhan, Political Advisor to Chief Minister Sunil Sharma, Secretary to the Governor Chandra Prakash Verma, and other senior officials from the Police, Home Guards & Civil Defence Departments, were present on the occasion amongst others.

Governor Confers 2025 Creator & Business Excellence Awards
SHIMLA -14 February, 2025-Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla graced the 2025 Creator & Business Excellence Awards in an event was organized by Kaiz Brain Private Limited to honor individuals who have demonstrated excellence in the business sector and creative industries.
Congratulating Kaiz Brain Private Limited for organizing the event, the Governor said that these awards were not just honors, but a testament to the struggles and challenges faced by individuals in their journey to success. The Governor highlighted significant role of businesses and creators in India's economic progress in an era driven by innovation and creativity. "On one hand, our young entrepreneurs and startups are contributing towards making the country self-reliant, while on the other, the creators were showcasing Indian culture, art, and modern technology on the global stage," he remarked.
Himachal Pradesh was emerging rapidly in various sectors, including tourism, organic farming, handicrafts, and information technology stated the governor praising the state's young entrepreneurs and artists for establishing their unique identity.
"Starting a business, strengthening it, and sustaining it amidst competition is not an easy task. Similarly, for a creator, presenting their art and talent on the right platform and reaching new heights requires immense hard work and dedication," he added.
Shri Shukla further stated that India was becoming a global hub for startups and Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). He highlighted several key initiatives launched by the Modi government to promote entrepreneurship, including Startup India, Make in India, MUDRA Yojana, Standup India, and Digital India. These initiatives, he said, are not only providing entrepreneurs with access to capital, markets, and technology but are also helping realize the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India). He emphasized that under Digital India, startups and small businesses are being integrated with online platforms and e-commerce, enhancing their growth potential.
Prof. Parin Somani, CEO & Director of London Skills Development Organization, Shri Naresh Gupta, President of the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce, Mustafa Yusuf Ali, Director of Care Takers Exterior & Interiors Pvt.
