Jalandhar,24.02.25- The hum of chisels and hammers filled the air as students' visions came to life through the ancient techniques of wood and bronze sculpting. The National Traditional Wood & Bronze Camp, a prestigious initiative organized by the Lovely Professional University’s (LPU’s) Department of Fine Arts in collaboration with the Karnataka Shilpa Kala Academy, Bengaluru, became a vibrant celebration of India’s rich artistic heritage. Over the span of 15 days, fifteen renowned sculptors, fine arts students, and independent artists from across the country united to honor and preserve the timeless crafts of wood and bronze, creating an atmosphere of creativity and cultural pride.
The workshop focused on the ancient methods of bronze and woodworking, offering a comprehensive educational experience that blended historical techniques with contemporary artistic expressions. Master artisans and scholars, known for their expertise in traditional sculpting, led interactive discussions, hands-on training sessions, and live demonstrations that allowed participants to immerse themselves in these timeless crafts.
Dr. Col. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor of LPU, expressed deep appreciation for the event's significance. Dr. Mittal remarked, “LPU takes immense pride in preserving our nation’s rich cultural tapestry while encouraging the younger generation to carry it forward with innovation.
