Chief Minister felicitates people of the state on Maha Shivratri festival

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has felicitated the people of the state on the occasion of Maha Shivratri.

Chief Minister said that from the time immemorial people have been celebrating the Shivratri festivity with great enthusiasm and fervor and as Himachal Pradesh was known as the abode of Lord Shiva, the Shivratri Mahotsav celebrated at various places in the state have their own significance. He hoped that the Shivratri fair would go a long way in strengthening the bonds of brotherhood.

Information Technology Courses pave way for brighter future for youth

Himachal Pradesh Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has started various new degree and diploma courses in various Government Engineering Colleges and Government Polytechnic Colleges across the State to keep abreast with the fast-paced world. An official spokesman said that recently the Government has approved introduction of new degree course of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in Rajiv Gandhi Government Engineering College at Nagrota Bagwan in district Kangra, Civil Engineering degree course in Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Institute of Engineering and Technology at Pragatinagar, district Shimla, diploma course of Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) in Government Polytechnic, Sundernagar, district Mandi.

The Spokesman said that Artificial Intelligence and data science is crucial in a world where data drives most and business social processes. He said that AI and data science skills are in high demand across industries. He said that youth trained in these areas can get positioned for future job markets, where automation and data driven decisions are the key. He said that it will not only offer promising career opportunities to youth but also empower them to contribute meaningfully to society through innovation. He said these courses will go a long way in teaching the students about analyzing data, extract meaningful insights and make informed decisions.

He said that the Civil Engineering degree course being introduced in Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Institute of Engineering and Technology, Pragatinagar will provide youth with competitive wages and ample opportunities for professional growth and will contribute their best for the creation of vibrant infrastructure. He said that necessary staff was being provided for starting these courses. These courses will provide ample employment opportunities to the youth of the State, He added

CM takes Holy Dip at Prayagraj's 'Triveni Sangam' with family

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today visited the Maha Kumbh Mela and took a holy dip in the sacred river waters at 'Triveni Sangam' in Prayagraj alongwith his family members and offered prayers on the occasion.

Sh. Sukhu said that Mahakumbha was the reflection of our rich culture and faith in our age-old traditions. He said that Indian culture was prominent from ancient times as is evident from annals of the history.

He wished happiness and prosperity for the people of the State as well.

MLA Kamlesh Thakur, Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Sunil Sharma, Principal Media Advisor to Chief Minister Naresh Chauhan also accompanied the Chief Minister on the occasion.

Horticulture Minister directs to provide photographic evidence of the progress made under HP shiva project

Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi while chairing the review meeting of HP Shiva Project here today said that the interests of the farmers were paramount for the state government. With the aim of benefiting the farmers of the state, an ambitious HP Shiva project amounting to Rs 1292 crore is being implemented in the state covering sectors like horticulture, irrigation, solar fencing in 6000 hectares of cultivable land in 28 blocks of seven districts of the state.

He said that under the scheme, more than 15 thousand farmers would be encouraged for the cultivation of fruits like guava, orange, litchi and plum particularly in Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Mandi, Solan, Sirmaur and Una districts and to provide them a suitable market for their produce.

The Horticulture Minister said that under the project, 162 lift irrigation schemes were being constructed for irrigational facilities. Apart from this, the horticulturalists will be provided with drip irrigation and solar fencing facilities to protect the crops from stray animals. He directed the officials and all the stakeholders to complete the project well in time and to work under the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) besides photographic evidences of the progress being made after site inspections.

He said that all the stakeholders must deploy adequate workforce and machinery in the clusters to ensure quality work and high quality saplings should be made available to the farmers for planting which would pave the way for strengthening their economy as well. The farmers should be made aware about the Shiva project so that more and more farmers could derive benefits from this project.

Secretary Horticulture C. Paulrasu senior officials of Horticulture and Jal Shakti Department were present in the meeting amongst the stakeholders.
