Chandigarh, March 19 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. He emphasized that the House should express its happiness over their safe return and ensure that Sunita Williams is informed about this resolution.

Addressing the Assembly, Sh. Vij said that at 3:27 AM today, good news arrived from space that Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, who had been stranded in space for 9 months and 14 days due to spacecraft malfunctions, had finally returned safely. He explained that their mission was originally planned for 8 days, but technical issues forced them to remain in space for an extended period.

Sh. Vij further stated that Sunita Williams’ father hailed from Gujarat’s Pandya district, and she proudly acknowledges her Indian roots. She never forgets to carry a copy of the Bhagavad Gita and India’s iconic dish, samosas, with her on her space journeys. Given this strong connection, Sh.Vij proposed that the Haryana Assembly formally express its joy over her safe return and communicate the resolution to her.

He also added that “I would like to express our gratitude to the NASA scientists who worked tirelessly to accomplish this miraculous feat and ensured the astronauts’ safe return to Earth despite their prolonged stay in space.”

Notably, Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore embarked on their space mission aboard Boeing Starliner on June 5, 2024, as part of its first crewed mission to the International Space Station (ISS). After being stranded for nine months, they successfully returned to Earth, landing in the Gulf of Mexico aboard SpaceX’s Dragon capsule.

Chandigarh, March 19 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport & Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij took a dig at the opposition and said that "Congress is now a ruined garden, and no one can predict which tree will fall next."

Speaking to the media during the ongoing Budget Session of the Haryana Assembly, Sh. Vij further said that "This time, the opposition has come completely unprepared; they have no issues and are merely acting as readers. They just read out statements without understanding what they are asking or what they should be asking."

*Congress played with the future of children – Vij*

Responding to a question on the 2008 recruitment issue, Sh. Vij said that "Hooda Sahib cunningly hid key portions of the Hon’ble High Court judgment, but our Chief Minister read out the full decision, which clearly showed that the court had serious concerns. A committee has also been formed on this issue. There was corruption in the process, talent was ignored, and injustice was done. Since this concerns the future of children, this matter will keep coming up. Congress played with the future of children during its rule, and it is our duty to keep raising this issue, he added."

*If the case has been decided, it can definitely be raised – Vij*

Responding to another question, Vij said that "Despite being a lawyer, Hooda Sahib does not seem to understand that while a pending case cannot be discussed, a case that has been decided can certainly be raised. Hooda did not mention anywhere in his statement that the case has been dismissed. So why can't it be discussed?"

*"The opposition doesn’t even know what to ask" – Vij*

When asked about the opposition's claim that the government is not answering their questions properly during the Budget Session, Vij replied that "On the contrary, the real issue is that the opposition has come unprepared. They have no issues to discuss; they are merely acting as readers. They just read out statements without understanding what they are asking or what they should be asking."

*"I have more courage than a 45-year-old, so my age is 45" – Vij*

During a verbal exchange in the Assembly over his age, Vij said that "Hooda Sahib questions my age in the Assembly daily, so I thought I should finally respond. I told him that age is not measured by date of birth. I even raced with a 45-year-old and proved that I have more courage than him. So, my age is 45."

*Government has taken steps to support farmers – Vij*

Sh.Vij stated that the government has taken several steps to increase farmers’ income and reduce their debts. He highlighted the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (Crop Insurance Scheme) and the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (Financial Assistance Scheme), which provide ₹6,000 annually to farmers, offering them significant financial relief.

*"Opposition is making baseless allegations because they are unprepared" – Vij*

Regarding regularizing colonies, Sh. Vij dismissed the opposition's allegations and said that "The opposition is making baseless claims because they are unprepared. These colonies were developed during the Congress regime. Our government is taking steps to improve the lives of people living there and to ensure development reaches these areas."
