A Case FIR No 37 U/S 285 BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector 17 Chandigarh against Ajay Kumar Thakur R/o # 461 Khuda Ali sher Chandigarh age- 32 years who was arrested from near booth market Sector 16 /D Chandigarh for obstructing the public path by installing a Rehri near on the road Chandigarh. Later on the accused bailed out. Investigation of this case is in progress.
Cheating
A Case FIR No 25 U/S 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120/B IPC has been registered in Police Station Cyber Crime Sector 17 Chandigarh on the complaint of one lady R/o # Sector 19/B Chandigarh against unknown person who cheated with complainant for Rs. 8,94,000/-, for investment. Investigation of this case is in progress.
Murder
A Case FIR No 50 U/S 115(2), 126(2), 351(2), 109, 191(2), 191(3), 190 BNS added 103(2) has been registered in Police Station Sector 11 Chandigarh on the complaint of Arjun Dalal R/o # 1444 Sector 20 Chandigarh against unknown person who attacked on Complainant friend with knife and stick near Hostel no 8, UIET Sector 25 Chandigarh on 28.3.2025. Victim Aditya Thakur sustained injuries admitted to PGI, later during the treatment he expired. Investigation of this case is in progress.
Attempt to murder
A Case FIR No 82 U/S 191(2), 191(3), 190, 109, 351(2), 118(1), 115(2) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector 36 Chandigarh on the complaint of Gurmeet Singh R/o # Villlage Mogewal District Hoshiarpur Punjab, he said that he is staying with the group of Baba Satnam Singh in the Qaumi insaaf morcha at mator barrier. On 29.3.2025 ten to twelve unknown people came and started asking about Baba Satnam Singh and when Baba Satnam Singh arrived, they attacked him with a stick and axe. After some time other sevadars gathered there, they fled away on their motorcycles. Injured person was admitted to GH-16 Chandigarh. Investigation of this case is in progress.

Chandigarh police achieved a major success
Chandigarh police achieved a major success by arresting four accused who were involved in murder of student of UIET , Punjab University Chd. named Aaditya Thakur S/o Parveen Thakur who was murdered by unknown assailants in musical concert of Haryanvi Singer Maasum Sharma on night dated 28.03.2025.
Today during investigation four accused named:
1. Lavish S/o Lajeinder R/o Manimajra . Student of CGC Landran.
2. Udey S/o Manish Kumar
R/o Manimajra. Student of Khalsa College sec 26, Chd.
3. Sahil S/o DharmpalR/0 Manimajra
4. Raghav S/o Dinesh R/o Manimajra. Student of Khalsa College Sec 26, Chd.
During interrogation they disclosed that on dated 28.03.2025 they all came to see musical concert of singer Maasum Sharma at UIET, Sec 25 Chd. But there was very heavy rush there and after seeing the concert for some time when they were going outside due to heavy rush they got into altercation and minor scuffle with complainant/ students. When they came outside their other friends also met them and said let’s give lesson to those boys. Hence, they again started scuffle with the Complainant/ students out side the concert in open ground towards Boys Hostel No. 08 and during this quarrel their friends stabbed the complainant/student with knife on the back and the other boy on the right leg and fled away from the spot. Effort are being made to arrest the remaining assailants. Further Investigation is going on.
