Chandigarh, April 4:The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will celebrate Foundation Day Week from April 6 to April 12 with various events, including service activities, public outreach campaigns, and ideological discussions.
Addressing journalists, BJP State President Jitendra Pal Malhotra stated that April 6, 1980, marks the foundation of the BJP, and since then, the party has played a crucial role in Indian politics.
BJP’s Historic Journey:
The roots of the BJP trace back to 1951, when Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee founded the Jana Sangh. After the Emergency of 1977, the Jana Sangh merged with the Janata Party, but due to ideological differences, the Bharatiya Janata Party was formed in 1980.
In 1998, under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the BJP formed the central government for the first time. In 2014, under Narendra Modi, the BJP secured a full majority, and this victory was repeated in 2019. The BJP government has taken historic decisions, including the abrogation of Article 370, the construction of the Ram Temple, a ban on Triple Talaq, Digital India, and the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
Foundation Day Celebrations:
The BJP State President announced that party workers will hoist BJP flags at their homes and conduct various service-oriented programs, including cleanliness drives, aid for the underprivileged, blood donation camps, and public outreach efforts to communicate BJP’s policies and achievements to the people.
Future Vision:
Malhotra emphasized that the BJP is committed to the comprehensive development of India and aims to build a self-reliant nation. The party has strengthened its organizational structure and expanded its reach to all sections of society. In the digital era, the BJP has effectively utilized social media and technology to spread its policies to every citizen.
