Ludhiana, November 17, 2025-Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Green Pockets Private Limited, for the development and promotion of Goat Milk Cheese (Chèvre) in the state of Punjab.

This MoU was signed by Mr. Bhupinder Singh Brar, CEO, Green Pockets Pvt. Ltd. and Dr. P.S.Brar, Director of Research, Vet Varsity. The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. J. P. S. Gill, Vice Chancellor, Dr. S. K. Uppal, Dean, College of Dairy and Food Science Technology, Dr. R. S. Grewal, Director of Extension Education and university officials.

Under the MoU, University will provide technical know-how, hands-on training, consultancy, and one-year incubation support through its College of Dairy & Food Science Technology. The collaboration aims to promote 'Chèvre cheese' making, support entrepreneurship in goat milk processing, and provide value-added market opportunities to goat farmers for livelihood diversification in Punjab.

Dr. J. P. S. Gill congratulated the team for this initiative and highlighted the role of goat entrepreneurs in diversifying Punjab’s livestock sector. He said, “This collaboration reflects Varsity ’s continued efforts to link scientific innovation with entrepreneurship. Goat cheese has strong domestic and export potential, and this initiative will open new opportunities for farmers and livestock entrepreneurs.”

Dr. R. S. Grewal assured full institutional support for implementation, stating that the university will continue to provide handholding and expert guidance throughout the training and incubation period.
