Chandigarh, November 25:In a first the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann in Monday created a new record by providing around 50,000 government jobs to youth merely in 32 months of its tenure.
The Chief Minister today handed over government jobs to 1311 employees in PSPCL thereby completing the total tally of recruiting 49,427 government employees ever since assuming charge of office in March 2022.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister congratulated all the youth who have got government jobs on this auspicious day. He said that this is not any favour on youth of the state but they deserved these jobs but the none of previous governments ever thought about them. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that these youth have got jobs completely on the basis of merit.
The Chief Minister said that the entire recruitment process has been carried on in a fair and transparent manner. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he had assumed charge of office in March 2022 and after few months he got coal supply from Pachwara coal mines resumed. He said that the state has created history by purchasing Goindwal power plant owned by a private company GVK Power.
The Chief Minister said that for the first time this reverse trend has started that the government has purchased any private power plant whereas in the past the state governments used to sell their assets to the favorite individuals at ‘throw away’ prices. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this thermal plant was earlier owned by a private company GVK Power and has been purchased at a cost of Rs 1080 crore. He exhorted the youth to avail the opportunities being offered by the state government by getting these government jobs adding that the Punjab government is leaving no stone unturned for making youth and active partner in progress and development of state.
The Chief Minister said that Punjab is a blessed land as every second village of the state has footprints of great Gurus and the state has produced valiant sons who had laid their lives for the country. He said that Punjabis are born entrepreneurs and leaders due to which they have proved their mettle across the globe. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the hard work and resilience of the Punjabis is unmatched owing to which they excel in every sphere.
The Chief Minister said that the youth who were compelled by the system of previous governments to migrate abroad are now returning back which is a positive trend of reverse migration in the state. He said that his government had provided government jobs to more than 49,427 youths in less than three years, marking a record in Punjab's history. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that among those who secured these government jobs, some are youngsters returned from abroad.
The Chief Minister said that people of state have ousted the political parties that used to play musical chairs of power to loot them after every five years. He said that his government has been given chance by people to serve them and they will work hard to fulfil their expectations. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the opposition leaders slam him just because they are envious of the pro-people being decision taken by his government.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the traditional parties are envy of him because he hails from a common family. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these leaders who believed that they have divine right to rule the state due to which they are not able to digest that a common man is running the state efficiently. He said that these leaders have befooled the people since long but now people are not getting swayed by their misleading propaganda.
The Chief Minister said that these haughty politicians had always taken the people of state for granted due to which they were ultimately shown door by people. He said that three days ago too the people had ousted such politicians who describe them as ‘variety’. Bhagwant Singh Mann said people are supreme in democracy but these politicians had taken them for granted due to which they have been taught lesson by masses.
The Chief Minister exhorted the newly recruited youth to become integral part of the government adding that now should serve the people with missionary zeal. Bhagwant Singh Mann hoped that the new recruits will use their pen for helping the needy and underprivileged sections of society. He said that the newly recruited youth should ensure maximum welfare of the public so that every section of society is benefited from it.
Training his guns at his predecessors, the Chief Minister said that these leaders had built huge palaces by amassing whopping wealth by misusing their official positions. He said that the walls of these palatial palaces were high and the gates usually remained closed for the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these leaders remained inaccessible to the people due to which they were ousted by the masses.
The Chief Minister quipped that such functions of public importance and happiness were rare during the last regimes. However, he said that a new era has ushered now when new projects are being dedicated to the public by the government and youth are getting jobs. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this is glimpse of Rangla Punjab and the state government is now leaving no stone unturned for facilitating the people by organising such days of happiness.

CM’s gift to sugarcane cultivators, hike of Rs 10 in SAP
Punjab Continues to offer highest SAP to sugarcane cultivators in country
Chandigarh, November 25:Continuing to lead the country in providing maximum State Agreed Price (SAP) for the sugarcane cultivators, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday announced a hike of Rs 10 in SAP thereby ensuring that the farmers will get Rs 401 per quintal for their yield.
In a statement, the Chief Minister asserted that the state government is committed for the well being of the sugarcane cultivators so a hike of Rs 10 per quintal is being given to farmers. He said that Punjab will be giving the highest rate of sugarcane across the country thereby immensely benefitting its farmers. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state will continue to lead the country in maximum sugarcane price as per the commitment of the state government.
The Chief Minister said that his government has always provided high rates to the sugarcane cultivators and now also this trend has been continued. He said that the state government will give Rs 401 per quintal to the farmers for the early varieties of sugarcane and Rs 391 for mid late varieties of the sugarcane. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that
State Agreed Price (SAP) of the sugarcane is highest in the country thus ensuring that the farmers of the state are immensely benefitted by it.
The Chief Minister said that said his government is committed for the well being of every strata of society including the farmers and others. He said that in Punjab government is making strenuous efforts to ensure that a ‘Rangla Punjab’ is carved out. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is ensuring judicious use of the people’s money for their well being adding that a slew of pro-people and development oriented policies have been embarked in the state.

VB registers criminal case against rice mill partners for misappropriating 14 wagons of paddy
Chandigarh, November 25, 2024 -The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing campaign against corruption in the state has registered a criminal case against four partners of a rice mill namely - Singla Food Products, Bhawanigarh in Sangrur district for misappropriating 14 wagons of paddy and causing a huge loss to the government.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the state VB said this investigation was conducted against the said rice mill based on a letter received from the then Managing Director of PUNSUP. The aforementioned rice millers had signed an agreement with the PUNSUP, a state procurement authority, for storage of paddy and rice milling during the year 2011-12.
He further stated that the then District Controller, Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (DFSC) department, Sangrur had sent a complaint letter to the then district manager PUNSUP, Sangrur to conduct an enquiry against the said rice mill for misappropriation of paddy.
He further added that in this connection, during physical inspection of the Singla Food Products and Singla Agro Mill, Bhawanigarh, conducted jointly by the then Deputy Manager (Storage) PUNSUP Jaspal Sharma and then D.F.S.C Anjuman Bhaskar, it had came to light that there was a shortage of 14 wagons of paddy in the Singla Food Products.
The spokesperson further added that the owner of said rice mill had produced a fake certificate to the inspecting team issued by the concerned Food Corporation of India (FCI) officials posted at that time at a godown in Nabha to take undue advantage of missing bags of rice to which both the FCI officials had submitted that the certificate bears their bogus signatures.
Based on this investigation report a criminal case has been registered against the four partners of Singla Food Products, Bhawanigarh - namely Pawan Kumar, and three lady partners - Lilavati, Manju Singla and Sameera Singla, under sections 406, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B of I.P.C. at VB police station, economic offences wing, Ludhiana range. Further investigation into this case was under progress, he said.

Ludhiana/Chandigarh, November 25:In a boon for the city, Local Bodies minister Dr Ravjot Singh inaugurated different development projects worth over Rs 120 crore in the city on Monday.
Projects have been inaugurated for construction of Lohara bridge over Sidhwan canal and for disposing off the accumulated legacy waste at Jamalpur dump site (around 19.62 lakh metric tonnes) and Jainpur site (over 2 lakh metric tonnes) of the civic body. The estimated cost of these projects is around Rs 120 crore.
Firstly, cabinet minister Dr Ravjot Singh alongwith Ludhiana South MLA Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina and MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal inaugurated the project to construct bridge (Lohara bridge) over Sidhwan canal in Lohara area. The bridge would be constructed at an estimated cost of around Rs 12.50 crore. MLA Chhina said that it was a long pending demand of the residents. With the inauguration of this project, she has fulfilled the promise made to the residents of the area ahead of the vidhan sabha elections. Construction of this bridge will streamline the movement of traffic in the area. Minister Dr Ravjot Singh also announced to release Rs 1 crore from his discretionary quota for taking up development works in Ludhiana South constituency.
Further, Local Bodies minister Dr Ravjot Singh along with Ludhiana East MLA Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal and MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal inaugurated the project to dispose off around 19.62 lakh metric tonnes of legacy waste accumulated at the Jamalpur main dump site of MC on Tajpur road. 'Heaps of trash' would be removed under the project which is being taken up at an estimated cost of around Rs 100 crore. The legacy waste would be disposed off through bioremediation process.
Cabinet Minister Dr Ravjot Singh and Ludhiana East MLA Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal said that removal of the legacy waste will provide a huge relief to the residents from foul smell and unhygienic conditions. The long pending demand of the residents has now been fulfilled. After the removal of waste, around 41 acres of land of the civic body would be freed and the land will then be used for welfare of the residents.

Later, Cabinet Minister Dr Ravjot Singh alongwith Gill MLA Jiwan Singh Sangowal and MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal inaugurated the project to dispose off over 2 lakh metric tonnes of legacy waste from the Jainpur site of the civic body. The waste would be disposed off through bioremediation and the project is being taken up at an estimated cost of around Rs 11 crore. Around 29 acres of land would be free after removal of the legacy waste and this land would then be used for future projects of the civic body.
Cabinet Minister Dr Ravjot Singh said that Punjab Chief Minister (CM) S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led state government is working for overall development of the state. The projects which have been inaugurated on Monday will provide a huge relief to the residents. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led state government is continuously working towards sustainable development and quality infrastructure is being established across the state.
