Chandigarh, November 27, 2024: Yuvsatta-an NGO, organized a VIP Tour for 30 girl students, donning pink turbans as sign-saluting the girl power. They represented ‘Girls Parliaments’, which were formed by Yuvsatta in association with CCPCR, in over 60 schools and colleges of Chandigarh and SAS Nagar.

Today, first in the morning, Sh. Vishal Kalia, Principal of Chandigarh Institute of Hotel Management, flagged-off from Hotel Chandigarh Beckons, a colourful bus carrying 30 girl representatives from 25 schools and two colleges of the tricit. Escorted by officials of Chandigarh Traffic Police, their bus first was received by personnels of Forests & Wildlife, Chandigarh Administration at Chandigarh’s Butterfly Garden, where Sh. Saurabh Kumar, Chief Conservator of Forests & Wildlife, greeted the proud girls and in his address shared the concepts of ‘Mission LIFE-Lifestyle for Environment’-a flagship programme of Government of India, in which their department is inspiring the young people through Eco Clubs to not wait for others for a better world rather ‘Be The Change’ themselves.

The climax of the day was meeting of these Pink Turbaned Girls in their second stop at the Punjab Legislative Assembly, with the hon’ble Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan, who during their round-table interaction, appreciated the over three decades of efforts of volunteers of Yuvsatta to promote rights and dignity of girls and women at all levels. Later emphasized that service (Sewa) and humility (Namrata) were the greatest virtues which young people should imbibe in them for a world, where oneness of mankind, justice for all prevails. He also added that young girls should dream big in life, as the famous saying goes “Shoot for the moon, because even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.”

During the aforesaid interaction with the Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Radhika a class V student of Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, when asked what she wants to become in life, she replied that she wants to become a politician, especially a Speaker to serve the society.

Thanking the hon’ble Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan,Mr. Pramod Sharma, founder of Yuvsatta-NGO, said that this is unprecedented and most motivating that an eleven-year-old girl got a chance to sit on the speaker’s chair.
