CHANDIGARH, 15.02.25-Director PGIMER proudly launches ‘Digi Seva PGI’ a groundbreaking online registration and doctor priority system aimed at transforming patient care. This digital initiative not only simplifies hospital registration but also introduces priority-based doctor consultations, a feature that was previously unavailable. By ensuring that patients with urgent medical needs or prior appointments are seen first, Digi Seva significantly reduces waiting times and improves healthcare efficiency.
Digi Seva was initially launched on a pilot basis for the Liver Clinic run by the department of Hepatology on January 10, 2025. In just one month, approximately 450 patients registered through this system, demonstrating its success and patient acceptance. Encouraged by its rapid adoption, the initiative will now be expanded to the departments of Skin, Orthopaedics, and Endocrinology.
Key benefits of Digi Seva include seamless online registration, real-time appointment booking, priority-based consultations, automated notifications, and optimized hospital workflow. This initiative minimizes administrative burdens and enhances transparency, allowing medical professionals to dedicate more time to patient care.
Prof. Vivek Lal, Director PGIMER emphasized the significance of this development, stating, “Digi Seva marks a major step forward in patient-centred healthcare. The introduction of priority-based consultations ensures that those in need receive timely medical attention, making hospital visits smoother and more efficient.”
Sh. Pankaj Rai, Deputy Director Administration, highlighted that “Patients can access Digi Seva through www.pgimer.edu.in to register, book appointments, and receive confirmation. Designed to be secure, user-friendly, and available in multiple languages, this initiative aligns with national digital health goals and sets a new standard for smart healthcare services.”
