MAHENDERGARH, 15.02.25-The International Conference on Advancements in Material Science for Sustainable Development (AIMS-2025) at Central University of Haryana (CUH) concluded with great enthusiasm, marked by engaging discussions, research presentations, and a grand valedictory ceremony. The three-day event, organized under the patronage of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar by the Department of Physics and Astrophysics, saw participation from over 200 national and international delegates, fostering discussions on sustainable advancements in material science.
The final day featured technical sessions, an award ceremony, and a prestigious valedictory session. The technical sessions focused on semiconductor materials, thermoelectrics, photochromic materials and sustainable nanostructures. Eminent speakers, including Prof. Abir De Sarkar, INST Mohali; Prof. Jitendra Singh, CSIR-CEERI, Pilani; Prof. R.K. Moudgil, Kurukshetra University; Prof. Annu Sharama, Kurukshetra University and Dr. Vinayak Garg, Punjabi University, Patiala, shared their insights. The poster session further highlighted innovative research aimed at promoting sustainability in material science.
In the valedictory session, Prof. Avinash Chandra Pandey, Director, Inter University Accelerator Centre, New Delhi, delivered the keynote address as the Chief Guest, emphasizing the crucial role of material science in addressing global challenges. He said that the role of material science is vital to tackle the challenges towards the sustainable development of India. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, felicitated the organizing committee and volunteers for their commendable efforts in making the conference a success. Awards were presented for the best oral and poster presentations, recognizing outstanding contributions to material science research. Best poster award goes to Kavita Kumari, Anshul Sharma and Ritu Chauhan. Best Oral Presentation award goes to Shalu Gupta, Sunidhi Badola and Anisha. Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Dean Research further enhanced the grace of the event with their presence.
Prof. Sunita Srivastava, Convener of AIMS-2025 and Head, Department of Physics and Astrophysics, read a comprehensive report on the conference's key takeaways. Prof. Suneel Kumar, Registrar, CUH & Co-convener, AIMS-2025, highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in advancing research.
