CHANDIGARH, 21.03.25-The Viksit Bharat Abhiyan Committee and IPR Cell of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, organised an event titled 'Innovation at Grassroot Level: An Exhibition and Presentation of Students’ Ventures and Entrepreneurial Ideas', under the aegis of Institution Innovation Council. The two-day event focused on promoting the culture of start-ups and innovation by giving young entrepreneurs an opportunity to come forward with their innovative ideas and exhibit the same.
On day one, 11 participants from various courses presented their innovative ideas and received suggestions and advice as part of mentorship from experts. Mr. Divyansh Mandhotra (COO and Co-founder Cmatrix), and Mr. Kabir Gaba (Vice Chairperson, IEEE RAS) were the mentors for the session. The mentors of the session cleared the myths about entrepreneurship and the process of patenting. Mr. Kabir Gaba also discussed the various aspects of Patenting with the participants so as to help them protect their original ideas from being infringed upon.
On day two of the event, the participants exhibited their products and ideas through stalls, thereby learning the art of marketing through the exhibition cum sale of the products. The event was a success and well received by the students.

Officiating Principal Ms. Suman Mahajan lauded this initiative for giving an impetus to the spirit of innovation among students. She added that with a view to promote the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, the college provides mentorship as well as financial support to the students.
