Chandigarh, 21/3/2025: The Annual Cultural Festival, ‘Virasat -25’, Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Chandigarh was graced by, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Union Territory Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, as the Chief Guest today. He was joined by V.P. Singh, I.A.S, Principal Secretary to the Governor. Prof. (Dr.) Anirudh Joshi, General Secretary, GGDSD college Society; Shri Jitender Bhatia, Finance Secretary, GGDSD college Society; Shri P.K. Bajaj, Secretary, GGDSD college Society; and Dr. Ajay Sharma, Principal, GGDSD college also graced the occasion.
Prof. (Dr.) Anirudh Joshi, General Secretary, GGDSD College Society, highlighted the remarkable progress GGDSD College has made over the years and expressed deep appreciation for the efforts of Honourable Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria in serving and uplifting the region, particularly appreciating his initiative to combat drug abuse, as highlighted in his recent call for people to join the walk against drugs. He added that the Governor’s esteemed presence at Virasat-2025 was a true honour for the institution.
Honourable Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria applauded GGDSD College for its unwavering commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and holistic education, recognizing its significant contributions towards shaping future leaders. He iterated, “Thank you for allowing me to be part of this annual fest featuring Satinder Sartaj, an epitome of excellence and a dedicated ambassador for the anti-drug cause. I feel fortunate to be here. We must salute the visionaries who founded this institution with great dedication, for when education is improved, the whole nation progresses.” He also emphasized that guiding students away from drugs and providing them with the right path will change the destiny of our nation.
Dr. Satinder Sartaaj, addressing Honourable Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria on stage, stated, “I am doing my best to fulfil the role entrusted to me in the anti-drug campaign, and through my concerts, I am spreading the message.” As the brand ambassador for Punjab’s anti-drug campaign, he emphasized his commitment to raising awareness and inspiring positive change. Dr. Sartaaj appreciated the warm hospitality and strong cultural values of GGDSD college, which is one of the foremost educational institutions of the region.
The event featured array of performances in the morning, including singer AC Bhardwaj’s enthralling performances, which left the audience spellbound. Students confidently showcased their talents, strutting down the catwalk with poise, curves, and moves, as they competed for the prestigious titles of Miss and Mr Virasat. Ms. Mishthi was crowned as Miss Virasat, while Mr. Arpit took home the title of Mr. Virasat. Ms. Shreya and Mr. Nikhil bagged the title of Rang-e-Virasat. Ms. Bhagwan Kaur and Mr. Arnav Sharma were declared Noor-e-Ehsaas.
