Three arrested drinking at public place
A Case FIR No. 26 u/s 68-1B Punjab Police Act & 355 BNS has been registered at Police Station 03 against three accused individuals Deepak R/O Village Kansal, District Mohali, Punjab (Age: 23 years), Amrinder R/O Village Kansal, District Mohali, Punjab (Age: 22 years), Satbir Singh R/O Village Kansal, District Mohali, Punjab (Age: 23 years). On March 20, at approximately 11:20 PM, the three accused were found drinking alcohol and creating a public nuisance near House No. 1160, Sector-8, Chandigarh. A police team patrolling the area noticed the disturbance and apprehended the individuals. The investigation is ongoing.
Snatching
A Case FIR No. 43 u/s 304 BNS has been registered at Police Station 39 on the complaint of lady resident of Sector-37A, Chandigarh. The complainant reported that on March 21, at approximately 7:20 pm, an unknown motorcyclist snatched her gold chain near house at Sector-37A, Chandigarh, and fled the scene. The complainant immediately informed the police, and an investigation was initiated. No arrests have been made so far.
Cheating
A Case FIR No. 18 u/s 303(2), 316(2), 318(2), 61(2) BNS, 66-B, 66-E IT Act has been registered at Police Station Cyber on the complaint of Nipun Bansal R/O Sector-21A. The complainant alleged that the accused, Ananya Gupta R/O Ferozepur Road, Ludhiana, Punjab, fraudulently used fake documents to deceive him, leading to financial and legal complications. The complainant reported the matter to the police, following which a case was registered on March 21. Investigations are underway to trace the accused and gather further evidence.
Accident
A Case FIR No. 45 u/s 106(1), 125(A), 281 BNS has been registered at Police Station 11 on the complaint of Sushil R/O Sector-25, Chandigarh. The complainant reported that an unknown car driver was involved in a hit-and-run accident that resulted in the death of a cyclist, Surinder Kumar, (Age: 57 years), R/O Sector-25, Chandigarh. The incident took place on March 21, at approximately 8:48 PM, near 24/25 Light Point, Chandigarh. The driver sped away from the scene after hitting the victim. The injured cyclist was immediately rushed to Government Hospital, Sector-16 (GH-16), where doctors declared him brought dead.
A Case FIR No. 27 u/s 281, 125(A) BNS has been registered at Police Station Industrial Area on the complaint of woman R/O #20A, Sector-30B, Chandigarh (Age: 58 years). The complainant reported that her husband, Rajinder Kumar (Age: 60 years), was involved in a road accident caused by Ravinder Singh R/Sector-29B, Chandigarh, who was driving a car. The incident took place on March 20, at approximately 9:30 PM, near the CBI Office in Sector-30, Chandigarh. The accused's vehicle collided with the victim, causing severe injuries. The injured victim was immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector-32 (GMCH-32), for treatment.The police arrested Ravinder Singh, who was later released on bail. The case is currently under investigation.
